Dr. Jason Anthony Brancato, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Brancato for several years and having had many doctors in my lifetime he is the best I've ever had. He's always friendly, never rushes, answers my questions, explains medical issues in easy to understand language, and most importantly diagnosis ailments correctly.

I don't even know where to start. Had to rate 1 star as 0 was no option! I am new to the area also in the medical profession in need of one myself. His initial visit was ok as we talked about myself, PMH, and refilled all my medications. He added a medication that I had never been on and obviously should have not prescribed. As this is not his primary field. Against my better judgement I took it for a week and I had a terrible reaction to it! Thank goodness I diagnosed myself before it was to late! His office didn't even call to ask how I was doing after expressing my opinion and what had happened. They just wanted to get off the phone with me. I had a follow up visit with him and he hid behind the front desk making his incompetent staff handle a situation clearly out of there league. I said I wanted to cancel the appointment. After his reply saying he can not refill any of my prescriptions and I need to go to another Dr.??? Why was this not made clear at the first appointment 4 months… prior?! So that I could go to a specialist. As well as trying to charging me for a no show after calling to cancel. After him hearing the news of what could of been fatal to me and a law suit on his license. I was very upset from his WAY off diagnosis. I had to drive over to the office to show up to say I will not be charged for his lack of professionalism and his staff's lack of NO communication. It has taken me 7 months to get things straighten out as it still hangs in the balance. Finally. After a month. I had to fly back to my City I am from to my old DR to be treated as I can not treat myself. It is Dr's and practices like these that give real Dr.'s like us a bad name. My situation As of now seems to be swept under the rug. I guess this is how NC handles there Dr's. I would not recommend this practice or Dr. to anyone. Upon speaking with fellow colleagues this is not the first time. Thank goodness I will not be practicing anywhere by this man or practice and moved back where I am from. Unless you just have a cold/ sniffles and need a antibiotic. This is a glorified minute clinic. I was appalled!

First, let me start by saying it is EXTREMELY difficult to get an appointment with this doctor as well as the practice in Steele Creek. RHONDA, a front desk floater within all of the offices refused to let my husband see the doctor because "his wife (yes, me) told her that her husband had multiple issues". We had just moved back from another state and my husband was still considered a patient due to the fact that it had only been 2 1/2 years since he was last seen within this practice. What do you expect when the person on the other end of the phone says "does your husband have any issues?" My response should be the appropriate one. "YES". Since he had multiple issues and one took priority, now Rhonda would not let him see ANY doctor within this practice until 5 weeks from when we called. Rhonda made it VERY clear that doctors are "only allowed 15 minutes and due to the fact that you have multiple issues, when the doctor asks you if everything is ok, that's when you'll start talking… and the doctors within this practice are not allowed to spend more than 15 minutes with patients". AND I QUOTE! My husbands knee was swollen up and even though his other 2 issues could have waited we felt that his knee could not. We chose to find another practice due to the response Rhonda gave us and the fact that we would have to wait 5 weeks to get an appointment. ANY doctor should be able to spend more than 15 minutes with a patient if needed especially when some patients may not utilize their whole 15 minutes. Rhonda is not the most helpful and definitely not the friendliest. My husband, myself and my daughter all chose to find another practice. Attitude and time means everything when it comes to medical. Also, when my husband called & spoke with Rhonda, he told her that he was a patient of Dr. Brancato's (under the 3 year limit for starting over as a new patient), however, they could not find any record of him ever being seen at this practice. Kind of scary when you were a patient of a doctor and you call 2 1/2 years later only to be told "you were never seen in this office!" Where did my husband's records go? When I called....I was told he DID see a doctor but it was over 3 years, then was told "oh, yes, I'm sure your husband saw Dr. Brancato, but that was before we went to computerized records, so, it COULD be on paper, but we're not sure". Seriously? That's scary!! I'm glad we kept looking....we love our new doctor! Good bye, MMG Steele Creek!!!!

My husband and I are both in the medical profession, and I've been with Mecklenburg Medical Group for about 30 years. I have loved the practice as a whole, but since my long standing Internist retired (Dr. Bob Fenning), then others moved locations, I needed to establish with a different MMG doctor. I saw Brancato for this recent need. He treated me like a number, not a person. He did not listen, or consider anything I said credible (even when the facts were backed up by my husband who is an MD). Further, when questioned, he became offended and suggested I find another doctor. No worries, I would never see this guy again, and I STRONGLY do NOT recommend him unless you like young doctors who follow check lists rather than practice medicine, and have a bit of "God complex".

Dr. Brancato is thorough with examinations and takes time to answer my questions in terms I understand. His staff is always courteous and efficient and appointments are timely without a lot of waiting room time.

I was being seen by an infectious disease doctor that was not following up with her patient in New York. I then called Dr. Brancato and informed me that if my infectious rate is still climbing I may need Vancomycin the strongest medicine there was. I think he is very careful and concerned for his patients. I will reccommend to anyone.

After seeing Dr.Brancato and having some test done I was told I had gallstones. Dr.Brancato made a referrel to a surgeon which was never forwarded to me.I was in pain for two weeks wondering if I needed surgery and if I had any other options. I had to call several times to follow up on my own and try to get the other Doctor's name and get an appointment. I called Doctor Brancato's office 6 times and always being told that I would get a call back that afternoon which never happened. After two weeks of pain and no answers or call backs I insisted I receive the Surgeons name and number. I was finally contacted with there office and told that they never received all the needed information from Brancato's office. Brancatos office said they sent a fax with my info but it didn't print all the needed sheets the surgeon needed to contact me. You would think that if you receive only 4 out of 8 sheets on a fax from another Doctors office someone would call and follow up???? You would also think… that Brancatos office would call the Surgeon to confirm that they received the fax????? No one followed up or cared!!! It's week three of being in pain and now I have to wait for my consultation with the Surgeon before anything can be done. It took six calls to Brancatos office for someone to figure out that my information was in limbo and that no one confirmed receiving it at either office. Who is liable if my gallbladder burst!????

I have had excellent experiences with Dr. Brancato's office. He is a pleasure to work with and very attenative to my concerns. He is always asking questions and explaining health conditions in common terms that are easy to understand. He makes me feel comfortable discussing my health conditions and I am confident in his diagnosis. Thanks Dr. B

My primary dissatisfaction with my ONE and only encounter with Dr. Brancato is that he was quick to blame all of my physical complaints on my weight. This is something many Dr.'s do. They see an overweight patient and then all focus is on "you need to lose weight". I understand that my weight negatively affects my health, but Dr. Brancato did not seem interested in any other diagnosis being a possiblity. I find that offensive, somewhat arrogant and unprofessional. His personality does not impart empathy or caring...he was flippant in his responses (he actually grabbed my stomach with both hands and stated "this is your problem")...which I found most unprofessional.In addition to my concerns about Dr. Brancato's "bedside manner", the billing department continues (after almost a year) to incorrectly bill this ONE visit to my insurance. They billed me for 2 office visits, charging me for services I did not receive. They even charged me for a flu shot...that I did not receive. The… flu shot is the only thing I have been able to correct in a year. I am still battling with them regarding the other issues.
