Dr. Jason Louis Dragoo, MD

I just had my left and right meniscus repaired and a stem cell transplant performed by Dr. Dragoo last Thursday. His preliminary consultations before the surgery were lengthy and detailed reviewing with me both the Ex-rays and MRI's. First examined by a resident and then secondly by Dr. Dragoo himself the consult lasted a total time of at least an hour as he explained and pointed out my problem areas and how he would repair them. The day of surgery went as planned with every member of the team performing to the highest standard of medical care. The anaesthesiologist, Anna, went into lengthy detail covering every drug she would be using along with potential drug side effects. I highly recommend Dr. Dragoo and his surgical team for knee repair.

Dr. Dragoo diagnosed what two orthopedic surgeons, one sports medicine doc, and three physical therapists could not figure out in two years in the space of about five minutes. He performed a modified lateral release, an anterior interval release and a synovectomy. I am well on my way to recovery. Dr. Dragoo actually listened to me and was not cocky or arrogant. He took the time to explain to me what the problem was, and even diagrammed it on the paper sheet covering the exam table. The guy knows his stuff and he's nice to boot. My only complaint is you never know how long you're going to be. You could wait ten minutes or an hour, but well worth it.

I consulted Dr Dragoo for my knee purely by circumstance, but was quite fortunate, as he's one of the top knee specialists in the San Francisco Bay Area. Well-trained from the renowned Steadman Clinic, he's involved in a variety of research in the knee preservation/repair field.I had several excellent, couple with a few rushed/mediocre, interactions with him over the past year. Overall, solid bedside manners, empathetic, not supremely confident and egotistical like many surgeons. Well-trained and professional staff and disciples (fellows/residents) made the office visits pleasant experiences. Appointment scheduling can take quite some time, so plan far ahead -- it's easier to cancel than schedule anew!

Dr. Dragoo is an excellent physician. Very courteous, and speaks to you as a person not a $$ figure. He performed a double lateral knee release, at separate time of course. No other phys. would do this, they said it was just old age, I am 43. I could not do anything. It has been 3 years and my knees are good.
