Jason Lee Gooch, MD

Dr Gooch is a Doctor that will spend time with you and make you feel valuable. He will listen to the concerns you have. He is always willing to listen even if he has a busy schedule. I always feel cherished after leaving from just a Pap smear. He has preformed minor surgery, IUD inserts and removal.

My first experience with him was 3 years ago. I had been seen by a different Dr during my first pregnancy and because my OBGYN was so unprofessional, when the day came for me to deliver, I showed up at Seton hospital and he was the Dr who delivered my first born. My experience there was the best. I'm now 30 weeks with my second & as soon as I found out I knew I wanted to go back to Dr. Gooch. Still loving my experience and will definitely go back for other pregnancies, unless he's nice enough to take everything out!! I rely don't do well in pregnancy so I'm at my limit now. No more! Lol

I am so grateful I found Dr. J Gooch. He is patient and very knowledgeable. He makes me feel comfortable and has a calming affect on me, which is great because I tend to be a bit of a worrier. He answers all my questions and doesn't rush me. He delivered my son via C-section my last pregnancy due to necessity, and will deliver this little one via C-section as well. He followed me up post surgery, last time with such care, I ended up having complications post partum, not due to anything he did though, and again, I am so grateful for the excellent medical care that I received from him. He has been and is just a wonderful OBGYN dr. I am glad he will be performing this surgery this time around again, in only a couple of days. Dr. Gooch is a fabulous doctor and I highly recommend him as a gynecologist. I am sincerely grateful for his expertise and his kind disposition. Thank you Dr. Gooch.

Over all the care I received was well... like he didn't care, I was in a serious wreck causing some serious issues to my lower spine and hip, upon moving from Houston where I had an outstanding amazing loving sincere caring Doctor whom knew the circumstances and actually understood the facts, I was forced to choose a doctor here in Austin with only weeks left of the pregnancy I found Dr. Gooch ... I only seen him once in his office before actually going in to labor the following week, he was not the doctor on call that night and I am sooooo thankful he wasn't!!! I have three children of my own and never with any doctor did I feel like the person he made me feel I was... due to the fact that I had injured my hip and spine I had been taking Norco for the pain, in which I would of never taken if it had not been so unbearable, in the hospital during a stay where I was in pre term labor, (6 day stay confined to the hospital bed) I had aggravated the hip even more so by laying on it for… days!! The pain was so unbearable I had to cry myself to sleep, mean while Doctor Gooch had obviously labeled me some sort of addict... this is so far from the reality of what is truth of the mater, after having my lil nugget I hoped that loosing the weight my hip and lower spine would not be in the pain it was carrying my child, however it is... during the last stay I was switched by him from the Norco to tramadol which helped but not nearly as well as the Norco, and being it was non narcotic I was willing to try it... I only took it when the pain was severe but with tramadol once your pain starts it takes a long time to break the pain unlike the Norco... I am now 5 weeks post delivery and at 4 weeks he completely with no warning stopped filling the prescription, I have called to discuss with him personally but was never allowed to communicate with him direct always through a nurse I never met... he refuses to refill the medicine at all, I have an appointment set with my physical therapist but it's two weeks out and anyone dealing with chronic pain knows you can't just deal with every day life and a new born plus 2 other children ages 3 and 10 in such pain! His response through the nurse call your PCP well with out the warning that he wasn't filling the prescription calling my PCP isn't helpful seeing I had to find one here since I moved right before I was due, then schedule an appointment and in doing so the first available is 37 days away so for 37 days not counting the last two weeks I am left with this pain I can not treat and had been treating to just deal with it... If he only knew the history and the money and time spent dealing with this injury to get it to be bearable ........ I just don't think he understands nor does he seem to be the slightest concerned or helpful in any way...I have a fear of what he has put in my medical records since I became very close to some of the nurses at the hospital, they have mentioned his snarly comments, so passing my medical records along to the next doctor only seems kind of frightening to say the least, I have never once had any sort of issue like this before and I just want to warn anyone that has similar concerns that this is not the doctor you are looking for if you need someone understanding and caring and someone willing to listen and not make assumptions of his own!!!! I am in such pain it's unreal to be tortured into waiting for such a long period, I guess the only option left is to sit in the ER with my THREE kids one new born and see if I can maybe get some sort of relief that way but how inconvenient... it never should of ended up like this, if I had been in Houston I would not be in this predicament and I would actually get to enjoy the time I have with my lil ones, instead I am so miserable I feel as tho I am worthless to my kids and that's just unfair all the way around

Well, Dr. Gooch may be great if you are young and having a baby, but for a peri-menopausal woman he is pretty unhelpful. He showed very little concern for my symptoms and pretty much dismissed my concerns as silly and an overreaction. Just what you want from a doctor. I will admit he does a pretty quick Pap smear and the mammography tech was fantastic, but I can't say I would recommend him to any woman about to go through the "change".

I could not recommend Dr. Gooch more highly. He is a fantastic OB/GYN. A friend recommended Dr. Gooch to me when I moved to Austin, and I am so glad she did! I felt comfortable with him from the second I met him. He is always honest and clear, he takes the time to make sure that his patients understand everything, and he is extremely comforting and accommodating. He also makes a point to get to know patients as individuals. Before Dr. Gooch I never visited the same OB/GYN twice, and now I cannot imagine ever seeing anybody else.

I started going to Dr. Gooch when i found out I was expecting. He is the best doctor
