In his role as an interventional pain specialist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago, Jason McAloon, D.O., works with each patient’s multidisciplinary care team to create a personalized plan designed to manage pain, discomfort and other side effects of cancer and its treatments. Dr. McAloon’s goal is to reduce suffering, restore function and improve quality of life for all patients, helping ensure that they can fully participate in their care and in their lives after treatment.Board-certified in pain medicine and physical medicine, Dr. McAloon has expertise in procedures such as spinal and peripheral joint injections, nerve blocks, epidural and intrathecal therapies, neurolytic procedures, implantable devices and neuromodulation, an advanced treatment option that may alter how the body’s nervous system reacts to pain.Dr. McAloon earned his medical degree from Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. He then went on to complete a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and a pain medicine fellowship at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, also in Chicago. He is a member of professional associations, including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
