Dr. Jason Wayne Stoneback, MD

In June 2023 I had a rock climbing fall in Canada requiring emergency surgery. Nine months later my femur was non union. I searched the country for a great trauma surgeon and found Dr. Jason Stoneback in my backyard. Seven months after a seven hour REDO surgery last June my fracture is almost completely healed. Not only was he great in the OR but his post op care around nutrition and movement has been terrific. 18 months later I am getting my life back. If you have a complex orthopedic trauma, Dr. Stoneback and his team are the best.

Dr. Stoneback and his staff were excellent. They worked diligently to save my foot and leg, and succeeded. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Stoneback is an amazing surgeon and person!! He rebuilt my daughter's lower left leg, making it possible for her to walk again. She almost lost her leg when she was 13 (turned 14 in the hospital), and is now finished with the orthopedic part of her recovery at 17. Words cannot explain how important he has been in our lives. We highly recommend Dr. Stoneback to anybody with ortho trauma.

Dr. Stoneback is a surgical rock star! I went to him for osseointegration surgery, and the results of OI and the medical care I received exceeded my expectations in every way. He is incredibly talented and unyielding in his efforts to provide the best outcome for his patients. Perhaps even more importantly, he is such a kind and caring person — I have never felt more at ease with a physician. I was blown away by the amount of time he personally spent talking with me about my case — before and after my surgery — including an unscheduled follow-up call once I was home. I truly felt he genuinely cared about me as a person and wanted to do everything in his power to improve the quality of my life. As if that’s not enough, the team that surrounds him is equally incredible! They are caring, patient, and always easily accessible. They became like family to me. Honestly, there just aren't any words that adequately describe the amount of admiration and gratefulness I have for Dr. Stoneback… and his entire team. They are true champions!

Dr Stoneback and the limb restoration team at UC Health are top notch. I broke my ulna & radius a year prior and my original surgeon said it was "fine." As I resumed my regular activities and physically demanding job as an arborist I had chronic pain and decreasing confidence in the surgery and recovery of my arm. I came to Dr Stoneback because I refused to believe that everything was "fine." After diagnosing my ulna as a non-union, I had a surgery set for 2 weeks later. He deals exclusively with non-unions of extremities and right away I knew that I was in the right place. The surgery was smooth and I was really impressed with all the follow up appointments to be SURE it was healing. Fast forward 10 months: I am in ZERO pain and have 100% confidence in using my arm. I have resumed all my regular sports, activities and have been fully able to return to my job as an arborist. I don't know what I would have done without Dr Stoneback and his great team! Also, everyone was so nice!

Dr. Stone back is top notch. He will take the time to explain what is going on and made us feel prepared and comfortable. I’ve had great success with him doing my ankle surgeries.

I would not recommend Dr. Stoneback. His bedside manner is upsetting. We would wait for over an hour in the exam room on 99% of our appointments. And you dare not question his "expertise".

Had a great experience with Dr Stoneback. My Tibial fracture was fixed quickly and without any issues. The follow up assistants were also very patient and as we're any questions I had. Highly recommend.

Had a severe Pilon ankle fracture. Saw 3 doctors prior who all said they could only fuse the joint. Dr. Stoneback was able to repair my ankle enough to where I am able to walk normal again. Glad I kept looking.
