Dr. Singh was the only one available within 30 days and near my area. It is very hard to find coverage for the Rancho Cordova/Folsom area with Sutter Health. Scheduled an appointment almost a month in advanced. The appointment time was 3pm. That day had unforeseen traffic when the GPS estimated it would take 40 minutes to arrive, which would be ~3:10pm. I called the number and advised I would run 10 minutes late and to please contact the care team. The rep said they would pass on the note. I proceeded to drive 40 minutes in traffic and arrived 3:07 pm. I checked in at 3:10pm with the reception and was told to reschedule, was turned away, and wouldn't even pass the message along to the doctor. The message from the Doctor was that it would take 30 full minutes to assess a new patient and there wasn't enough time. "Please reschedule at your convenience." I tried to reason with my efforts to contact ahead of time and drove in traffic. The care team said it was up to the the doctor. The… next day, I received a letter that I missed my appointment and keeping my appointment is the best way to make sure I get the healthcare I needed... and attached some mission statement memo from Sutter Health. What you fail to realize is that I was there trying to get care. Waited a month for the appointment, promised my wife and kids I would see a doctor. Not to mention, I am a current Sutter Health employee for over 8 years. THE MISSION Statement is "Caring for our patients FIRST and 'our people' ALWAYS." You failed to do that. I haven't seen a doctor since the pandemic and lost my primary care list. So I have to go through the system as a new patient and the experience is quite frightening. Can't find a doctor or appointments within 30 days of my area. I plan to circulate this experience within the company and outside. You should check the values and statement yourself. Terrible compassion.
