Dr. Jay Mitchell Borick, MD

Run, do not walk, away from this doctor & practice! My primary care doc referred me to Dr. Borick for shoulder pain. An MRI was ordered but supporting paperwork was not sent, so MRI was denied. Two weeks after my initial visit, I fell & severely damaged my shoulder, was in excruciating pain, & bruised from my wrist to above my elbow. I returned to Borick, explained accident & he did nothing except a very cursory exam. Said a steroid shot was all he could offer because MRI was denied. He was not interested in my injury/fall and did not make any notes about this accident. I spent hours on the phone with my insurance company & even connected to Borick's office in a 3 way call with insurance rep. Rep clearly explained that an EXPEDITED appeal could be filed on the phone but Borick's staff didn't do this. In fact, even though I left several messages, Carla, Borick's assistant, did not return a single call! Be prepared to wait an hour or more past your appointment time; no patient… consideration! Fortunately I found another doc; MRI shows significant damage requiring surgery.

Very rushed and seems like he hates his job!!! Too many other good orthopedics in the area to settle for this joker

We went in for our daughters knee and he was VERY thorough and honest with the exam. He have her great advice about being athlete and future injuries and didn't sugar coat the injury so she'd know worst case. He also gave us a advice on what else we could do to solidly confirm his diagnosis and not prolong healing. But there was no pressure to move forward with an MRI. It was completely optional. Hannah who scheduled or appointment and checked us in and out was SO NICE. Very helpful and compassionate. That is something that could be lost easily in that job after seeing so many injuries every day. However, they ALL treated our daughter as if she was their first case. Compassion, honesty, thorough. We did wait quite a while for the doctor, but having a good friend who's an orthopedic surgeon I know things can pop up that are completely not expected and they need to be able to consult and console patients. Sometimes we just have to wait. I consider it a blessing that I'm not the… person who's in the emergency situation.

Judging from some of the harsh reviews, hard to believe this is the same Doc I went to. This guy was immediately personable, we chatted for a bit about things not related to the visit. We ran some Xrays of my right knee and went over them, showed I had a torn meniscus. He gave me a script for an NSAID and sent me for an MRI to get a better look. The NSAIDs worked wonders. On second visit to look at MRI, it confirmed the torn meniscus. He said our options are: 1) Cortisone shot in the knee, 2) Possibly scope it, depending on how the shot works out. Long term NSAIDs not a good idea, which I agreed with. So, got the shot, within a couple of days - oh my god, it feels almost brand new! Now weaning off the NSAIDs, now just a waiting game to see how it goes long term.

Went great and really knows what he's doing. He does come across as arrogant but he's not, just direct to the point which I really appreciated. Only thing I wish is he'd smile but oh well that's no biggie. His female assistant is terrific. Will use him for my hip replacement.

Very rude. Rushes through appointments. Did arthroscopy surgery and turned out worst than before. Made me wait for in bed for two hours before he showed up for surgery. I was walking better before the surgery but now I can barely walk around the house without pain.

Dr Borick takes the time to fully understand the issues and attempts to take a conservative treatment plan. He explains his plan and reasoning very well.

I went in for a torn rotator cuff and the idiot cut my biceps tendon. He then said I should wait until the next appointment to decide what to do. At the next appointment it told me we couldnâ??t do anything because we had waited too long.

This guy is as sub par a doctor as it gets. Arrogant, abrasive, uninterested attitude. You will wait for over an hour. He is vulgar, and absolutely inattentive to your needs. He will bill you for things never done. Rush you through your appointment after an extensive wait. I cannot express enough how all should veer away from this man. Why become a doctor with such a shameful attitude towards your patients?! He is the absolute epitome of poor bedside manner. All I can say to him is get a clue you poor excuse of science and medicine.

To make a very long story short, Dr. Borick gave my 18 yr old son a highly addictive pain medicine and when he realized he was using the medicine for other reasons than pain, he sent him down the street to a pain management office and never made any contact with the doctor there explaining the situation in order to help my son get back on the right track. Guess my son wasn't important enough. Was it really necessary to prescribe one of the most addictive drugs to an 18 year old kid? Did he care that little about him that he sent him off without making sure he was in good hands? I recommend finding a doctor that cares about his patients so no one has to go through what we went through over this past year.
