Dr. Jay Goldberg, MD

Dr. Goldberg is a good Dr. l so I don't want to say anything negative about his practice because I can't speak for his other patients. Overall I am just sharing my previous experience I found was not a good at all to start he was not consistent . I felt like I was pain when I call the office after never getting no call back where I had to make to appointment just to see him for a few minutes, there was concern on how I feel on the options he gave me and just like another patient mention he also did not offered no guidance whatsoever and I also was always rushed. It appear he was talking in cycles. and yes he was arrogant to honest he always had been. I did cancelled the procedure I was set up for personal reasons and when going back to the office after never getting a call back when he return from out of town he totally then decided against the procedure I was originally going to get. I was floored. So now I made to choose to not return to his office and decided to go… with a Dr. that will be more compassionate on their patient concerns with clear answers and help me with deciding what the best option is. I also have to admit I not a big fan of the hospital Dr. Goldberg is afflicted now just because of my past experience the hospital I been going to is many years I rather my new Dr. of choice also be afflicted with this must bigger and well known hospital. Now don't get me wrong Dr. Goldberg was awesome when he did my C-section in 2001 which is the reason why I went back to him. Just this time was the deal breaker just off of never clear on questions , concerns ,never return my calls , always felt rush when in the office , appear inconsistent. So in conclusion I feel that it is best I leave the practice. I personally believe he may be just too busy and 1 day of surgery will not work because he is so busy and do not return calls makes me believe that if there was any issue he would provide good bedside manners.

Wonderful, kind doctor. He removed my fibroids without performing a hysterectomy as my doctor had recommended. Now I am pregnant! He is my hero.

Dr. Goldberg might be on of the best surgeons, but not when he cuts your uterine artery. I was in recovery for 8 hours because the nurse was afraid to send me to my room. She knew something was wrong. Nevertheless, Dr. Goldberg saw me the next day, said I looked great, and discharged me even though my blood was very low after my first transfusion. 24 hours I was back in the ER, this time in New Jersey. I couldn't make it back to Philly. I called him and never had anyone call me back. The doctors at the ER at Virtua couldn't even get a hold of him at first. The Jefferson doctors at Virtua told me I was fine. Of course. Meanwhile, I was bleeding internally, had pneumonia, and was sent to ICU for 3 days. Another 3 days later, I was discharged, only to return one week later in an ambulance. More Jefferson people more confused this time........I was bleeding out externally this time. Spent time in the surgical recovery ward and eventually bled out again. The specialist there… was DRAGGED up the steps by my new doctors (I didn't want Jefferson physicians anywhere near me) and he performed a surgery to fix the cut uterine artery. So much for nothing wrong with me. Four blood transfusions, three trips to the hospital, a stint in ICU, and much confusion later, I finally was on the path to recovery. I've got a little scar and a successful surgery to remove the fibroids but at what cost. Btw - Dr. Goldberg first told me it was good I went to Jersey ER b/c it would have taken Jefferson hours to get to me. Never again. I didn't like the fact that he never knew my name nor what I was in for... always asked..... crazy busy... I understand, but he needs to see his people as people and not just another body.
