Dr. Jay Christopher Grochmal, MD

This was my first visit to this doctor. I am an open minded person and believe in freedom of religion (for any or none).. In the exam room a small speaker on the wall played a Christian music station. (HIs waiting room was littered with come to Jesus stuff. Hey, fine. Doctors can put up pictures of thier 40 foot sail boat or Karate awards or whatever. Doctors have big egos. We get that.) The volume was so loud during the exam that I had trouble concentrating. (I only hear out of the ear the speaker was blaring into.) I believe the loud music interfered with my ability to communicate with the doctor. Later that evening, I remembered, that he forgot to tell me something. If not for the music, I would have reminded him. It was just *very* distracting. The speaker needs to be set to very soft or, just remove it. Music should not be playing during exams. His bedside (exam?) manner was fine but this volume for the music made it horrible. This is a case of, probably, a fine doctor… ruining his patient experience and possibly jeopardizing patient health and communication by bringing in and forcing in something he finds important but that has no place in a medical practice.

Vision is now very poor after the cataract surgery. Dr.Grochmal kept saying it would improve, but it never did!!

As a professional umpire, eye sight is a necessity. The ability to see without the aid of glasses or contacts is truly a blessing. I have no other person to thank, but Dr. Grochmal. Not only is he attentive to your needs, but is also very professional. Laser eye surgery can make anyone nervous. However, Dr Grochmal puts you at ease throughout the 20 minute procedure. After the surgery, my eye sight was 20/15. Dr. Grochmal exceeded my expectations and I can assure you he will do the same for you.

Dr. Grochmal has been treating me for glaucoma. My pressure is down now to normal. I have been very grateful to have found a very good eye doctor. Also, all the office staff are professional, yet friendly. Every visit is pleasant.

The experience was overall a good one. 4 of 5 visits there wasn't any waiting. The LASIK operation lasted a whole 10 minutes (most of time is preparation). The price is very reasonable. I achieved 20/20 in my left eye, and 20/25 my right eye by the day after.

Had Lasik performed on both eyes. The procedure and recovery were surprisingly quick. Was fully functional with a few days.

I had CustomVue LASIK with Dr. Grochmal and consider it the best money I ever spent. Felt great after 3 weeks, perfect after 6 weeks, and now see 20/15 three months after. Great staff, friendly office, responsive, etc . . . really a perfect experience. If you've been considering LASIK but just haven't taken the leap, call Dr. Grochmal today. You will not regret it.
