Jay Alan Hertel, DO

Saw him after my NP moved to a different area of medicine. He took over her patients. Dr. Hertel was very dismissive. His response to most things was “well, thats half the population.” When I asked if that was going to be the conclusion to how I was feeling, he said - “well I don’t know what’s else to do.” This is the first time I was seeing him. I told him I was hoping to continue the dialogue from my previous NP as to my symptoms. Instead of tying to figure out from where to pick up, he just said all tests look normal. You’re normal. He left me with the parting words of “you can believe what you want” when I shared with him what I understood about weening off of a specific medication as we were discussing how to. I would expect my provider to share their perspective and experience in doing so vs his dismissive response. The one star is generous. I give it because he showed up.
