Dr. Jay Shannon Keller, MD

Dr. Keller was my OB with my first pregnancy in 2010. It ended up being high risk and I cannot say enough good things about this man! He was always willing to explain things and answer any questions. He even brought up things I hadn't even thought to ask and asked me how I felt about my birth plan. He helped me be at ease when I felt like everything was falling apart, and made me feel like the most important person in the room. He was very courteous and genuine. We had scheduled an induction date because of my complications and it resulted in an emergency c section, which he performed himself. I just really loved having him as my doctor and wish he had came to Missouri instead of going to Illinois because I really need him now! My doctor now is terrible compared to him. Oh well... He was really great. And I would recommend him to anyone who asks. If he ever comes back!

DR Keller has delivered nothing but excellent care for my wife and children. His bedside manner is excellent and funny- a true DR who admits when he doesn't know an answer to a question , But , he will find one for you! COME BACK TO AL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Keller was the best doctor I have ever had!!! I have never met a doctor who cared so much about his patients. When I had an appointment with him there was never a time I left with a question unanswered. I can't describe how great this doctor is. I hated to see him leave Decatur as I know I will never find another doctor like him. I can honestly say the best doctor in the world now resides in Illinois.

I recently had Laparoscopic surgery performed, and it's been nothing but a hassle since. After being told that it would take months to heal, I continuously had problems getting proper pain management. I was told that the doc could only write 1 prescription per week, yet I never received enough medicine to last 1 week. Hello? I ended up hurting for about 2 days out of each week throughout the entire process. It is a very painful recovery time. Where's the "Patient Care"? After being told that I needed to find a "Pain Management" doc, which I did, I'm now having problems getting someone to send my records to the NEW doc, eventhough I've handwritten a request letter like they've asked me to do(which they supposedly never received) and I've also went to the place and signed a release form and later was told they were mailed out. Guess what? The New doc hasn't received them, probably because they were never sent. This has been going on for about a month now. How hard can it be to transfer… records? If your looking for hassles and PAIN, here's your man! Good Luck!
