Dr. Jay R Mcmaster

On November 21, 2024 I had a septoplasty and inferior turbinate reduction submucosal resection. This surgery did not improve my breathing. My diagnosis was "significant septal deviation and turbinate hypertrophy, obstruction 90% or greater." My rationale for having the surgery was that my breathing could only improve. Operation notes say that "the patient has excellent improvement in the volume of the nose." The outcome of this surgery is that ease of breathing has not improved. Airflow is less. I believe this is due to the reaction of the turbinates from being reduced. Prior to surgery, I did not consider that in their new state, the turbinates may or may not be able to readjust to cold, warm, moist, dry air, and do their job. Congestion is greater than before the surgery. Nose drops that were never needed before surgery, have become common since surgery.

Dr. McMaster is the best with all of my medicale problems. He listens very well and knows exactly what my problem is. He is the most accurate doctor that I know, and makes sure that he is right. I always feel very comfortable in my doctors office! Thank you very much!
