Dr. Jay Alan Motola, MD

Zero Stars for this 'doctor'. I had a horrible yeast infection. He tested my urine only (no swabs were taken). Gave me Antibiotic ointment, and told me 'there is no infection'. (antibotics make yeast infections worse). A week later huge white blisters broke out in my urethra due to the infection that was not treated. Excrutiating pain. He told me there is no infection and I should go see a dermatologist. Horrible 'doctor'. Please do not book with him, you may avoid this fate.

Office never called me back with test results. I finally called 2 weeks later and was told I needed to come in for a follow-up, which I refused to do seeing as my first office visit was a big waste of time. I requested Dr. Motola call me back with my results, he never did so hopefully it's not life threatening... I will be going to another doctor and requesting my test results. There are too many doctors in NYC to settle for this level of care.

Dr. Motola has treated my husband for several years during very stressful and serious episodes. He has been unfailingly kind, warm, and supportive in addition to being a world class doctor. It's unusual today to deal with a doctor who takes the time to reassure not only the patient but his spouse, and responds to EVERY question and email almost immediately. We live a distance from his office and still would not change doctors because of his expertise and his support.

I first starting seeing Dr. Motola in 2015 when I started having problems with kidney stones. I was able to pass one myself but another became impacted and had to be dealt with surgically (outpatient). Throughout the entire process, Dr. Motola spent as much time as I needed so that I would understand the options, risks and treatment plans. He also sent me to a dietician so that I could avoid foods that contributed to my stones so that I would not have another episode. In 2018, I went to see Dr. Motola to get a PSA test after one of my friends died from prostate cancer. The test results came back high and I soon had a biopsy, which he performed. It turns out I had a small tumor. We discussed all available treatment options, he referred me to another doctor for a second opinion, and we decided to watch and wait. Unfortunately, my tumor grew and earlier this month I had radioactive seeds implanted into my prostate. Throughout the whole process, Dr. Motola took as… much time as my wife and I needed to make sure we understood everything about the procedure, side effects and recovery. I can enthusiastically recommend Dr. Motola to others with similar issues.

I have to say that the personnel doesn’t match up to the quality of doctor he’s. He really cares about the wellbeing of his patiences. If you have a problem and email him her will get back to you the same day. Amazing

Dr M is caring and compassionate as well as a great Urologist. Although I did have to wait a bit to see him ( who wants to see the doctor that has no other patients!) once my visit started he gave me all the time in the world. I am elderly and have a zillion other medical issues. Others said I was too old to have surgery (since when is 81 too old!) but he started a very comprehensive evaluation . The surgery was a success and this guy is a STAR!

When I finally saw Dr Motola, it had been 3 months that I had been suffering from a recurring UTI condition, or that's what I thought it was. After seeing three different doctors, I was extremely frustrated because I wasn't getting any better. The doctors told me I was testing negative for a UTI and not to worry. Just give it time and it would get better on it's own . Well, that wasn't the case. Dr. Motola concurred that I did not have a UTI but he was able to notice that my urine was too acidic. He thought that might be the problem and prescribed something to correct the problem. After taking the medicine for a week, I was finally pain free. My urine was no loner irritating my already irritated urethra. I am so thankful to Dr Motola for being able to arrive at a correct diagnosis. I'm so happy to finally feel better.

Dr. Jay A. Motola diagnosed my urology health issue within minutes, while many other doctors misdiagnosed me and were ready to perform unnecessary surgery that would of placed my life in jeopardy. I want to thank Dr Motola for his holistic approach and treating my condition and potentially saving my life. Again thank you for your professionalism and dedicated efforts.

Dr. Motola was kind and attentive. He is a very smart and talented doctor.

I had seen Dr. Motola for a problem relating to a kidney stone. From the moment I arrived in his office I felt nothing but comfort. As someone who gets nervous when visiting the doctor, I felt like I was with a friend more than at the doctors office. Dr. Motola is knowledgeable, kind, courteous and very caring, Upon leaving I was reassured I was in good hands when he told me not to worry and If I ever need anything to contact him.
