Dr. Jay Mulaney, MD

I rarely write a review, but Dr. Jay Mulaney did such an outstanding job with my cataract removal and astigmatism surgery, that I just had to share my experience. After the surgery, I can see better now in both eyes than when I was in the 5th grade! And no glasses, not even for reading! I am so glad I trusted my eyes to Dr. Mulaney. He definately knows what he’s doing. He and his staff have always treated me with respect and professionalism. I truly couldn’t be happier with my outcome and highly recommend Dr. Jay Mulaney.

Dr. Mulaney is anexcellent cataract surgeon, Unlike some local eye surgeons, he uses mild local anesthesia so patients who are sensitive to anesthsia can have their cataracts removed. His staff is well trained, efficient and helpful.

I was very pleased with the entire staff at Dr Jay Mulaney’s office. Everyone was polite, friendly & very professional. I have been wearing glasses since I was 5 years old and now @ 73 I no longer need them. Where do I start ? I was diagnosed by Dr. Mulaney with glaucoma and early onset of cataracts. Dr. Mulaney immediately got my glaucoma under control. My cataract issue progressed and required surgery. Dr. Mulaney performed both the cataract and glaucoma surgery on both eyes. Dr. Mulaney is an active listener and pro-active in protective measures to save my vision. His staff is courteous and professional. I’ve never had to wait for more than 10 minutes to be seen. In my opinion, dr. Mulaney is the best you could ask for in a physician. Joe Robinson

Dr. Mulaney is extremely knowledgeable and efficient. He treated me for two conditions. One of them was dry eye which I have suffered with for many years. He was the first ophthalmologist that offered a viable remedy. I’ve been extremely satisfied with all three procedures with Dr. Mulaney and highly recommend him for all of your eye care needs.

I recently experienced some vision loss in my right eye and contacted my general practitioner. She told me that the nerve in my right eye appeared swollen and recommended I see an eye doctor immediately. Her staff referred me to Dr. Jay Mulaney in Lakeland, FL who was kind enough to see me the very same day at 2 pm even though he was completely booked. We live in Clermont, almost an hour away, but all other nearby ophthalmologists could not see me for more than 3 weeks. Now that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him personally, I attribute his willingness to see me right away to his genuine concern for the health and welfare of others. I was greeted in a very friendly and professional manner by his staff and was submitted to a battery of tests that resulted in his diagnosing me with Glaucoma. I had already lost a good amount of my vision in the right eye, but Dr. Mulaney told me he would work to save what I had left and ensure I did not have the same vision loss in my left eye. … He scheduled me for surgery at 10:45 am the very next day which went beautifully with no issues. Dr. Mulaney is a soft-spoken gentleman who is clearly and expert in his field. His manner of conveying information is wonderfully clear and easy to understand. Very importantly, he is calm and chooses his words carefully to impart calm and the reassurance that you are in the best of hands. His facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and an experienced staff. I return for surgery on my left eye in a week and am confident it will turn out as perfectly as with my recent experience. Thank you Dr. Mulaney, for saving my eyesight. As I mentioned to you after my first surgery, you have done a great and wonderful thing for me. Knowing I will be able to see my children, grand-children, and travel with my beautiful wife is truly one of the greatest gifts we can have. May God bless and prosper everything you do. Dr. Mulaney is the best eye doctor in Lakeland. He is honest and truly cares about me unlike other doctors I've seen. I go to him for regular eye appointments and will one day have him do my cataract surgery.

Dr. Mulaney is the most caring doctor I know. I had cataract surgery and it went so well. I have worked in doctors office before and never saw those doctors call their patients and send cards to their patients. I would highly recommend Dr. Mulaney and his wonderful staff.
