Dr. Jay Jitendra Patel

Dr. Patel was the surgeon of choice for my full knee replacement. The first time I saw him I was impressed not only by his staff but by his personal approach. Post surgery in the hospital as well as at my subsequent appointments he remained as personable as always. I turned 70 years old during my recovery...and was back on the tennis court at just over three months, playing in USTA competition at 4 months. I do realize a lot of my post-surgery success was because of ME. But I feel his approach was encouraging and allowed me to pursue the belief that my knee problem was just a temporary hiccup in my maintaining a normal life, athletically was well as “every day”.

Had reconstructive surgery with Dr. Patel. At first he could not see what was wrong because after about 20 xrays he could not see the problem until I walked down the hallway for him and he said I see it now. Had a CT and found that the first surgery was not good and I would never walk straight. He redid it and the minute they had me walk after surgery I could walk straight and felt great. I keep telling people about him. Sure there are going to be people who don't always like a doctor for some reason, but Dr. Patel is A+ in my book and I recommend him highly.

Dr Patel is an excellent surgeon and I feel I made the perfect decision in selecting him to do my hip. I am still healing as I am 2 weeks out from my procedure and just finished my physical therapy. Their follow up and attention to detail is beyond reproach. Phyllis stanko

I see the good reviews, so assume Dr. Patel is a good surgeon. But, when I saw him, he didn't sit down once. He only listened to bits and pieces of my "story." Ordered lots of x-rays (which was fine), but when they came back, he stood in front of the monitor and said I was fine--no need for surgery. I didn't WANT surgery. I wanted to understand why I was in pain. He said again that I was fine, but if I wanted the name of a back specialist, he would give me a name. He said the name and left. Won't be going back to this guy, ever.

My first thought when meeting Dr. Patel was that he had sweet soft eyes. His mannerism is very comforting. My surgery went so smoothly. I like Dr. Patel and will keep him as my doctor.

I had looked for Orthopedic surgeons in the Long Beach area, but I didn't feel 'right' about any of them...then Dr. Patel was recommended by my niece, T. Ratzlaff, and I have been feeling great about my choice ever since...!

After Dr. PATEL performed knee replacement surgery on my left knee, l was confident he would give me the same excellent treatment on my right knee. I am amazed how fast I am healing and the pain medicine controls the worst of the pain. I am so very thankful to Dr. Patel and his staff.

Dr. Patel performed a total hip replacement on me two weeks ago. I am already up and walking and doing many things for myself around the house., such as ; showering, dressing, getting up,and down the stairs. The procedure was anterior which makes recovery that much easier . I would definitely recommend Dr. Patel to anyone who is in need of hip replacement. I am very happy with the care I have received and the out come of the surgery, even at two weeks.
