Dr. Jay Tal Rubinstein, MD

My 86 year old mother, who has battled dizziness and balance issues for 8 years, and I had a terrific experience with Dr Rubinstein last week. After visiting two dozen well respected physicians no one has been able to diagnose my mother, until we met Dr Rubinstein. He took the time to clearly explain what the battery of tests conducted had revealed, his diagnosis, the treatment plan as well as answer all our questions. Although time will tell whether the medications and PT help alleviate the problem, I can't say enough good things about him Dr Rubinstein.

I am a retired NP hospitialist who has been treated by Dr Rubenstein. I sought a second opinion per recommendation from a pediatric MD for my chronic left ear infections and mastoiditis. . He was through, precise and has provided clear explanations and plan of care. Being on the patient side of our health care system can be daunting. He made me feel cared for and confident in his care.

Dr. Rubinstein is the only physician who was able to accurately diagnose my hearing loss. He spent a lot of time with me and answered all my questions. He has a great sense of humor and is a brilliant doctor. I've seen him 3 times sense and his staff worked hard to get me in to see him and the audiologist with some recent issues I've had. He is the one I will choose for surgery when the time for that comes. He is a specialist and hard to get in to see, but well worth it. I trust him and his extensive knowledge and research background.

For starters, this Doctor has private office hours which would have resulted in a $20 copay. Instead, we were scheduled at the University Medical center where we got a whopping hundreds of dollar bill for outpatient hospital care. We were not informed of this. Second, previous tests were disregarded, he was abrupt, disregarded symptom input and abruptly dismissed us - saying "you have such and such - deal with it." Assembly line medicine without any of the care you would hope you would get from a professional human being. Avoid him at all costs and it will cost you a lot in heartache, humiliation and cash.

I had a 3:00 appointment and did not see him unitl 5:00pm with no apology. He did not listen to me; he talked "at" me not to me.
