Dr. Jean Jasaitis Barry, MD

I've seen Dr. Barry for the past 5 years now and she is genuinely amazing. She is extremely thorough and professional in her approach and really takes an ample amount of time to listen to every question and concern I have. I have always been made to feel that any question or comment I have is welcome, no matter what it is. She truly is an incredible wealth of knowledge, and I feel truly tries to work WITH me, as the patient. She really epitomizes what a great doctor is, in my opinion.

If you ever had lyme all your symptoms can be explained by lyme no matter what the test results say. Long term treatment by antibiotics can be very dangerous.

I'm a 42 year old man who has struggled with weight and cholesterol. Dr. Barry has changed my life, and probably saved it too. Her common-sense approach to health and wellness is a refreshing change from the pill pushers I have seen elsewhere, and the amount of time she devotes to her patients is unprecedented. I have lost 25 lbs and brought my cholesterol down from 216 to 164 without drugs. I feel great, and she keeps me motivated to stay on track and maintain my awareness throughout the day as I make decisions about what to put in my body. Her traditional internal medicine training is a major bonus compared with other "doctors" active in the functional medicine realm who are not MDs and have no real experience managing complex medical issues. She is ideally positioned to bridge the gap between evidence based medicine and alternative approaches to health and wellness. Also, her labs and blood-work offerings are very reasonably priced. Dr. Barry's advice on changes to make in my life… to deal with my health issues carried a lot of weight because she clearly follows her own advice; she is about my age but looks incredibly fit and healthy, which is very reassuring. My old doctor who wanted to put me on a statin was the same age and height as me but 50 pounds heavier at least...which is definitely less reassuring. She's worth every penny and then some!
