Dr. Jean Fechheimer, MD

The yearly trip to the OB is not high on my list. Even so, Dr. Fechheimer and her team make it more than ok, they make it pleasant.

I would highly recommend Dr. Fechheimer. She has been my doctor for just about 20 years. I have a lengthly history and have also had minor surgery performed by her. She is very smart, pleasant, helpful and understanding. Not to mention she did a fantastic surgery. I have never waited more than 15 min in the waiting room or in the exam room, however it doesn't bother me to wait because when its my turn I don't want to be rushed.

Dr. Fechheimer was my OB/GYN for 8 years. She failed to diagnose my cancer and despite 2 years of bleeding and an ultrasound which suggested cancer, decided against my wishes to "remove the cyst". While cutting into the cancer (which previously was entirely enclosed in my ovary), she spread it and now I am dying. She is a nice woman but "trying to save an ovary is not a wise apporach". I now have state IV cancer and there is no hope. nice woman, though never apologised and hid her mistake, delaying my chemo. Referred me to a young, unqualified surgeon for follow-up, not even Dana Farber. Thoroughly incompetent! Too bad. She has an appearance of being "kind and nice". I needed "knowledgeable and skilled".

Dr Fechheimer is a wonderful, caring, brilliant physician. She held my hand through a miscarriage, delivered my children, and supported me through a cancer scare. She's consistently ranked as one of Boston's Best Doctors by Boston Magazine, is a professor at Harvard Medical School, and is adored by the nurses at Mount Auburn Hospital.

I could not disagree more with the previous poster. Dr. F. is patient, caring and re-assuring. Extremely helpful and hard working.

Condescending, dismissive and downright unpleasant. Avoid at all costs. Office staff are wonderful though.
