Dr. JEAN-FREDERIC ABOUDARHAM, M.Eng, Ph.D. is a BUSIESS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT & PSYCHOLOGISTI am an engineer by education, with an infectious enthusiasm for the human potential. I was born in Algeria, where I spent the first eleven years of my life. One year before the independence, my family moved out of the revolutionary turmoil of North Africa to a quieter suburb in the South of Paris.In France, I studied Mathematics and Physics at Lycee Saint-Louis in the Quartier Latin, and Computer Sciences at Jussieu University, Paris, with a particular interest for Boolean Logic. I earned a Masters degree in Systems Engineering and Operations Research.Later, I spent nine years in Israel, where I became a citizen. I am fluent in three languages: French, English, and Hebrew.During a twenty five year career in computers around the world, I found my interests shifting more and more toward the well being of my fellow[o]men, which led me to pursue a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at PGSP …(Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, Palo Alto, CA), now PAU (Palo Alto University).Towards the end of my studies, I realized that psychology and the work place can and do intersect indeed, and this lead me to add a business consulting leg to my career.Father of three children, my multi-cultural experience, my familiarity with the business world, and my understanding of human emotions and dynamics give me a unique view point on the intricacies of group and team functioning.CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGYI am an "eclectic" psychologist. I believe that our mental paradigms, conscious and unconscious, permeate everything else in our lives, like our perceptions of the world, our beliefs about ourselves and what is possible, our day to day emotions, our visions and dreams for the future, and our choices and actions in the present. I see psychotherapy as a way to recalibrate these schemas so that the results match expectations. It starts with becoming aware that we have schemas. It continues with evaluating their functionality in relation to our aspirations. And of course there is already right there a bunch of feedback loops that will lead to recalibrating the expectations themselves. Then there is a whole process of implementing the changes that will make the aspirations become reality, and in a lasting way.This approach applies to both individuals and couples. Most couples have not spent enough time negotiating their visions of the future. They just assume that love is magical.
