Dr. Jean Ru-Jen Hou, MD

Dr. Hou has been my primary care provider at Kaiser Permanente in Gaithersburg for many years. She is one of the most dedicated physicians I have seen anywhere. Her clinical skills are top notch and, equally important, her bedside manner is excellent. Dr. Hou always takes the time to have a conversation with me about my health concerns. I never feel rushed when she sees me although I know she has many patients. Dr. Hou has called me at home after hours on occasion to update me on test results or to discuss important aspects of my care. That is a level of service and dedication I deeply appreciate. She does a fabulous job of coordinating my care with specialists when needed. Dr. Hou practices the "care" in "healthcare" and inspires me to serve others similarly in my own profession.

I have been a patient of Dr Hou’s for many years. She has helped me navigate both routine and serious medical issues. Her bedside manner is excellent and I always leave feeling that she actually cares about my health and not just another patient. She has a unique ability to make uncomfortable conversations comfortable. I am lucky to have her on my health care team. I hope she’s around for many years.
