Dr Jeanne Yu, MD

Dr Yu is, by far, the best doctor I have ever met. She took the time to explain everything and made an uncomfortable, embarrassing situation tolerable and normal. She is a real person and made me feel at ease. It was a long process to fix my issue and she held my hand through it all with real compassion. I recommend her to anyone who has any issues that she handles. You won't be sorry!

She preformed a hemorrhoidectomy on me several years ago. Her after care was abysmal. I will never forget how intrusive and ignored I felt after I hung up the phone with her. I found out later a daily dose of Miralax might have eased my recovery process greatly. Miralax is a OTC medication she prescribed I take 2 times a week maximum. I dreaded calling her (which was seldom) because I felt her words were defensive uncaring and accusatory. I accepted how cruel she sounded to me because I so needed her help. My pain fell on deaf ears BTW...my hemorrhoids and fissures are back (which were always a risk) along with pelvic floor issues.

is this because the hospital won't let you cancel last minute if you or the dr. or sick with FLU?! Isnt' this a risk to sick patients or to your staff??? Very disturbing she was in a hospital with rotten cold, larengitis, sore throat!!!!!!!!

Dr. Yu is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. I received excellent care and without hesitation would recommend her to anyone

Because of an on-line negative review I was apprehensive when another doctor urged me to make an appointment with Dr. Yu. To my delight, I found Dr. Yu to be one of the most outstanding and competent medical professionals I have dealt with in my 68 years. She is patient and fully explains her findings and the options available. She helps you learn more so that you can intelligently participate in decision making regarding your medical needs. She is compassionate and considerate. She has a delightful sense of humor. I don't know what the problem was for the couple who provided the negative review, but my experience makes me feel someone (maybe the couple) was having a bad day. Oh, and her staff were great too.

After examination she explained my medical issue and made me comfortable having all my question answered. I had the procedure done and she follow-up to make sure that everything is being done accordingly. Follow-up visit are also not an issue,since my case is more complicated than others,she did work hard to make sure it will be treated and I be better. I am thankful for having her as my specialist.

Although it was my husband's first time seeing Dr. Yu, it was the third time he had been seen at the practice for the same condition--a perineal abscess. It had previously been lanced and had drained a substantial amount before the incision healed over, It was apparent that the abscess had not drained completely. This was evidenced by the rock-hard,ropelike tunnel that ran from the rear around to the front. No drain or packing had been installed to prevent closure of the incision and allow maximum drainage. Her associate had said there was a 50/50 chance of forming a fistula into the rectum which would require further surgery. We were told to watch it and to return if he began to run a fever or it became painful again. A fever could be an indication that the fistula had penetrated his colon. Once we determined that he had been running a low-grade fever for 3-4 days, I made him an appointment for a re-check.I suppose it was the luck of the draw that he ended up seeing Dr. Yu that day.… She called him from the waiting room and led us to the exam room. Because of a disability, I could not walk as fast as them and lagged behind on the way back. On the way, she asked my husband who the woman was that was following them back. Both of us were offended--not by the question--but by the way she asked it, ie tone of voice, word choice, etc. Once we got into the exam room,she stopped just inside the room, folded her arms across her chest, and inquired as to why we were there. It came across as "Why are you wasting my time?" My husband, stunned by her attitude, responded "I don't know." He later told me that he answered that way because his mind went blank when she acted so shockingly rude and annoyed. She asked, in a snotty tone of voice "Well, YOU made the appointment.You don't know WHY you made it?! Overlooking her attitude, I explained to her about the fever, and because it was obvious she had not reviewed his chart, I had to tell her what was in it. She asked if it was painful and he said "not really" except if pressure was applied to the "rope" that ran through his gut. Acting exasperated, she donned gloves and asked him to 'assume the position' on the exam table. I then informed her that he had recently suffered a shoulder dislocation and "the Position" may need to be modified somewhat. She started to remove her gloves while stating that the dislocation was probably the cause of the fever. We agreed it was a possibility but we wanted to make sure. Dr. Yu reluctantly agreed to examine him. She didn't have him in a position in which she could visualize the incision her associate had previously made. Regardless, pronounced the incision healed (true) and said there was no drainage, hence no infection. My husband is a Registered Nurse (RN) and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). We both have extension training and experience with abscesses.but it would seem obvious, even to a layperson, that if it was draining into his colon, it would be unlikely to be visible outside, That would be unless, of course, he had no control over his anal sphincter. She then mentioned the presence of skin tags in the region which, if she had reviewed his chart, she would know we have already scheduled an appointment with her associate for their removal. She signalled the end of the exam, The whole thing lasted about five minutes. She never checked any vitals; temperature, blood pressure, etc. She was rude and unprofessional throughout. Under no circumstances, will we accept her as his clinician again. It is particularly frustrating that she will bill Medicare and they will pay her for that visit. She should not be paid. She did not earn it.
