Dr. Jed Assam, MD

Dr. Jed Assam is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in retinal and vitreous surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed his residency and internship at University of Texas Medical Branch Hospitals and Methodist Hospital in 2021. Dr. Assam furthered his expertise through a fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, completing his advanced training in 2023. With nine years of experience in eye care, he is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Assam practices at VRA Vision in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and maintains hospital privileges at University of Texas Medical Branch. He focuses on treating serious eye conditions including diabetic eye disease and diabetic retinopathy. His practice includes managing posterior vitreous detachment and other retinal disorders.
