Dr. Jed Ryan Schortz, MD

Dr. Schortz is an outstanding physician who embodies the true meaning of kindness and compassion. He is a highly knowledgeable expert in his field who helped diagnose and treat an issue other doctors of mine repeatedly dismissed. What impressed me the most about Dr. Schortz was his warm and genuine bedside manner. He always listened attentively and offered thoughtful and thorough responses to my often long-winded questions and commentary. Despite the busy office environment, I always felt like his only patient of the day. He seemed to honestly care about my well-being and went out of his way to make me feel supported, offering words of encouragement and reassurance to alleviate any pre-surgery anxiety. He understood the emotional toll my condition was taking on me and addressed me with empathy and understanding - that made all the difference. I'd gotten used to feeling rushed, invalidated, ignored, and even belittled throughout my long and exhausting health journey. Dr. Schortz has… helped restore my faith in the medical system through his gentle, reassuring demeanor, professionalism, and expertise. I am finally at peace for the first time in a long time, which is one of the greatest gifts a doctor can give a patient. I am incredibly grateful that my path led me to Dr. Schortz, and I look forward to any future visits with him. The person who was in charge of making appointments did not call me back after three calls over a three week period and told me that I need to wait for them to call me back and then waited another week. I was in excruciating pain at this time. Also when I had my biopsy done, it was the most painful experience I’ve ever had and the doctor really doesn’t read pain levels well. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable and in pain in my life. I ended up going to a different doctor and had a hysterectomy with no problems. All good now. Would not recommend.

Don't call yourself a center for surgery & pelvic pain if you don't actually treat pelvic pain! Nope but you'll refer out to pelvic floor PT? I've been in PT 3 years now. If that didn't help more, what good is another referral? Didn't even bother checking for hypertonic muscles despite me repeating a history of it often with EDS. Check for endometriosis? Forget it. Check for, oh, even a UTI? Nope not you. You did NOTHING. If you are considering this doctor, don't waste your time. You didn't even check for pudendal neuralgia despite chanting that like a rhyme. Huge waste of frustration & time on my part. But you still got paid to do absolutely nothing.
