Dr. Jefferson Kingsley Davis, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Davis's for over 2 decades. When I first saw him, my mental illness was controlling my life. I was very unstable. He has since stabilized me through therapy and medication. I live a life now that I never thought was possible for me. In my youth I was in and out of hospitals. I could not attend school or hold down a job. Now I am happily married and own a successful business. I owe this amazing life to Dr. Davis. He never gave up on me even when I had given up on myself. He is extremely intelligent and up to date on all of the current medications for various mental illnesses but what really sets him apart is that he is genuinely compassionate. I don't think that is something you can learn in school. It is an inherent gift and he has it in abundance. I continue to see Dr. Davis to manage my mental health and to keep me stable. I have regularly scheduled appointments but if I have an emergency or need to reschedule, I talk to his office manager,… Anita. She has always taken such great care of me. I know she cares about Dr. Davis's patients as if they are her own. She runs a tight ship, which means the office is highly organized and professional. As a business owner, I respect her deeply and as a patient, I appreciate her care and attention to me. If you are in need of a psychiatrist, look no further. Dr. Davis is the best!

Dr. Davis has helped me with my PTSD/major depression disorder & high anxiety. I was suffering with regular suicidal thoughts to the degree of planning them out. He has worked with me through painful medication changes to where I am able to handle life & all of its stresses. I went through treatment using the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and I've noticed significant improvement in all symptoms except my anxiety issues. He is a wonderful listener & truly cares about your quality of life.

The office manager needs to know everything and will decide how long of an appointment you need. She also wants to know why you need to see the doctor in detail. She has run off many of his patients. A strange situation.

The doctor lets the office manager run what patients can and cannot do. She says how often and how long you can meet with the doctor. The office manager must also know why you need an appointment with the doctor. She should have been fired from running off so many patients, but no....

I saw Dr Davis for many years. I think he is a good doctor, however he keeps his office manager, and she is not fun to deal with.... She needs to know every detail before she will give an appointment with him. She is extremely unprofessional, but yet he keeps her... She decided i needed a longer appointment and threatened me she would get me thrown out of the Practice, so I stopped going. Not worth it...

Dr. Davis is compassionate and very well versed not only in psychiatry and treatment options, but he is knowledgeable about the connections of mental health with other specialties, both in traditional medicine and alternative medicine.

I have been with Dr. Davis for 12 years. He is always patient, professional, and knowledgeable. I don't go to a doctor to become BFF with the office staff. Anita is stern, but when my insurance denies a claim, she is able to get it worked out. She is stern when taking prescription refill requests, because of the type of medications Dr. Davis prescribes.

Dr. Davis is a highly skilled, professional psychiatrist with exceptional expertise. I have read some reviews here faulting his front office staff's attitude. What I have observed is that the people who make such complaints are themselves impatient and rude. They are not providing the full picture of their own behavior and interaction. Dr. Davis has been a godsend to me and my family. He is terrific!

Think of any and every horrible quality of the reception at a psychiatrist's office and you will have an idea of this practice. It does not matter that the doctor himself is - or may have once been -wonderful. He allows this woman to harass patients, scream at them, and be as disagreeable as possible. Today, I attempted to schedule an appointment - note that I have seen Dr. Davis since 2000 - just now. First she claimed I didn't have the right insurance. Then, it was established that I do and she insisted I needed prior authorization before she could schedule an appointment. All this while being as unpleasant as she could. I am now seeking other care.

I honestly hate every interaction I have with the front office. Anita is rude, and confrontational. In order to request a prescription renewal I have to not only catch Anita at the office, but I have to dictate to her the exact prescription, the dosage, how to spell it, how often I take it. If I say that I don't feel comfortable announcing this information, she cops an attitude. If you say I don't feel comfortable telling you this, she informs you that she needs something to tell the doctor. If you say perhaps he should look at my chart, she will audible recite this back to you as she writes it down on your chart. I should say that I work in a open-floor environment, and I often keep an emergency supply of pills in my desk, and I honestly don't want my co-workers hearing about my prescriptions. She is completely inflexible about everything as well. People can only pick up prescriptions in the very limited time frame that she determines, and these times are not conducive to… any working schedule. She'll tell you that she will be there on Friday between 9-10 am. You show up, and she is not there. Oh and in order to have prescription ready by Friday, you need to have spoken to Anita by Wednesday, otherwise it won't be ready until next week. If you left a message with the answering machine, it doesn't matter, she personally has to speak to you. It doesn't matter that you have to sign the copy of the prescription verifying that you personally picked it up. Also in order to get your prescription, you have to know the time and date of your next appointment. If you don't have that readily available , you will have to sit and wait for her to flip through her calendar one week at at time until she finds your appointment. I have no complaints with dr davis, only his office staff is atrocious.
