Dr. Jeffery Michael Hamling, DDS

The best part of dealing with this office was the root canal itself, painful though it was. There was a mixup with my bill -- an honest mistake where the office sent the bill to the wrong address. It was at least as much their fault as much as it was mine. Once I finally received a bill, I was prepared to pay it immediately, I therefore called the Dr's office to make payment for the services I received. Instead of accommodation, I spoke with a pernicious, rude and officious billing clerk who insisted I would have to pay their collection agency $450 in referral fees. Avoid this office like the plague. In over 60 years on this planet, I've never been treated so rudely by a medical 'professional's' office. Patient beware.

Extremely disturbing incident with Dr. Hamlin: Family member, who had seen him only once for a consultation / the follow-up for actual dental work was just a few days hence-- developed severe infection with pain -- twice. First time he willingly called in antibiotics and low-dose pain medication. Six weeks later, with a subsequent identical situation, he refused -- claiming she "came to the office and refused treatment" --completely false, and records proves that. He refused to help her / call in mediations. His excuse was that he was on vacation and "I will get back to you when it is convenient". He then 5 minutes later said he was canceling her appointment and refused to see her. This is called, in medial parlance, "patient abandonment" --i.e, abandoning a patient while they are in crisis. One of the worse medical experiences we have ever had.

Professional, fast, explained what he was doing. Office staff extremely knowledgeable. Have never had a root canal, so explanation was very helpful. Does not offer nitrous oxide. Does offer a senior discount. Cannot complain there!

I felt Dr. Hamling was rushed and during the procedure he hit a nerve and i was unable to open my mouth more than an inch for weeks. I called the office in the first week and the person that answered the phone blew me off and said to call back in another week. Ultimately i was able to get in for a review I was given exercises that just caused me more pain. In the end it took a prescription for a muscle relaxer a facial jaw massage and over three weeks for me to be able to open my mouth. No follow up call from this office to ask me how I was doing and throughout the recovery i felt i was on my own. It was no fun!. I have had no further issues with the root canal. I think he knows his job but needs to be more gentle and understanding of what his patient are going through. Some of his staff can use some sensitivity training as well.

Dr. Hamling did not fix my root canal. I had to go back to oral surgery to fix what he neglected to take care of. He caused an abscess and major surgery and still recovering
