Dr. Jeffery Mark Reuben, MD

Dr. Reuben is the most compassionate involved Dr. I have ever worked with. He even called me on the weekend.

From my initial telephone contact with Dr. Reuben's office to my last visit I experienced nothing less than exceptional professionalism. The office staff is kind, courteous and knowledgeable. Every question or concern I had was answered professionally. I was explained exactly what to expect when arrived and the manner in which I would be seen. During each visit, I was seen shortly after arriving. The nurse, PA and Dr. Reuben each took their time to listen to my concerns, review images taken, and discuss a plan to alleviate my pain. Dr. Reuben made certain that I understood the results of my images and developed a course of action to alleviate my pain. As a side note, this is the first time I have ever written a review for anyone. I am that impressed.

Its now 3 months after my spinal surgery that Dr Reuben performed on me. I feel like Dr Reuben performed a miracle on me. Before my surgery I dreaded going to Home Depot or Sam's Club due to the amount of walking. After several minutes of walking my feet would go numb and shortly work its way up to my waist with sharp shooting pain down both legs. Dr Reuben told me I had severe spinal stenosis and emphasized how severe it was. One week after surgery I was walking one mile a day, now I walk 2-4 miles each day with no pain or ill effects. Each time I walk I think of the miracle Dr Reuben performed on me. Thank you Dr Reuben.

Dr. Reuben is an exceptional doctor and has surrounded himself with an equally impressive team. From the first time I visited his office, I was treated as if I were family, not a patient. Eveyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, explain your situation, and options. They were all genuinely concerned about my pain. Dr. Reuben takes such great care and time to sit and explain things; I have never felt rushed. I cannot say enough about Dr. Reuben and his staff.

Dr. Reuben and his incredible team are nothing short of exceptional. From the reception area to scheduling to the nurses to the PAs and the amazing Dr. Reuben himself, the care is second to none. The best way to describe my experiences over the past few months is this: They treat me as though I am a family member, not a patient. I have never waited in the waiting room more than 5 minutes. The nurses/PA/and Dr. Reuben all take time and listen to me, explain what is/was happening and what my options are/were, and helped me to find a solution to 7 months of horrible pain. The professionalism, personalization, and knowledge of this exeptional team cannot be overstated.

I am a 74 year old male. have been very healthy all my life - until late SEP 2019. At that time I suddenly developed severe pain and strain in my right leg. It quickly became debilitating - I could not work , think, and sometimes even sleep. I went to a local Orthopedic Urgent Care Center which quickly evaluated my situation and prepped me to see Dr. Reuben of the Spine Institute. By then I realized that if I could not get this fixed, I was facing a life changing event that was not going to end well. Dr. Reuben examined all the imaging and quickly concluded that my growing leg pain, increasing right leg weakness, and severe quality of life impacts, warranted urgent surgery - and it would work for a herniated disk that was out of position with resulting stenosis squeezing two spinal nerve bundles extending into my right leg. And Dr. Reuben determined that he did not need resort to spinal fusion. Dr. Reuben was very organized, clear in his explanation of his plan, and direct with… answers to my questions. His team was superbly trained, coordinated, effective, and kind. Dr. Reuben predicted that I would stand and walk with much reduced pain shortly after surgery. Was he ever right about that - I was past the "walker" stage by early afternoon! In the subsequent 3 weeks I have recovered normal gait and stride, regained physical confidence, and day by day get stronger with residual back pain steadily subsiding. It would be fair to say that Dr. Reuben's prompt, aggressive, and effective surgical intervention has given me my life back - and quality time for more bucket list activities! He and his wonderful team have my sincerest thanks and highest recommendation for orthopedic surgery. They are the real deal!

She was a new woman ,able to forget she had back pain at all

Worst office staff ever! My husband was referred by our PCP to Dr. Reuben for lumbar radiculopathy. We were told that they needed to review the referral to make sure my husband was eligible for an appointment. Five days later, I called the office to get an update and was told that they could not find a referral for my husband. Then we receive a call that night from Dr. Boatwrights nurse asking us to update our information from a appointment back in 2014. My husband was a new patient so I'm not sure who's information was linked to my husband's name. Then to add insult to injury on day seven we were told that my husband would have to wait two to three weeks for a appointment because he was seen in the ER prior to being referred. He was never in a motor vehicle accident, he didn't fall, nor was this a work comp injury, so I'm not sure why his case was treated as such. No one never called our Doctor to clarify the referral, and when the nurse called from my Doctors office she was given the… runaround. I will never refer or give a recommendation to this office ever. Complete waste of time while my husband continues to suffer in pain.

I just had my 3rd neck fusion in 15years !!! Certainly something no one wants to go through! Dr Rueben and his staff are the BEST! Everything is done with such precision, kindness and caring. Not too may doctors around like this!!!. Hilton Head is so fortunate to have this doctor on staff! He is the BEST!
