Dr. Jeffery Steven Smith, MD

After an initial consultation that lasted about 10-15 minutes Dr. Jeffery Smith pronounced "depression" and prescribed medication. Insomnia is my primary complaint. Subsequent visits lasted around 5 minutes each. After failing to contact me after a medication change had severe side effects I told Dr. Smith I didn't feel like he cared. He told me if I felt that way to leave his office. I left in disbelief. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but the lack of professionalism was stunning - especially in his field.

I have been a patient of Dr.Smith for the past 18 years and was succeesfully treated for Dissociative Identity Disorder. Dr. Smith saved my life. His patience, understanding and persistence to help me through the most difficult time in my life was unprecedented. His knowledge and expertise on DID,when others couldn't help,puts him at the top of the list in this area that so many ignore,don't believe or don't want to commit to the long hard work this illness needs to recover.
