Dr. Jeffrey Ciccone, MD

Dr Ciccone was great! He took the time to explain my test results and my options to me. He is very compassionate, knowledgeable and understanding.

Staff is horrible! Doctor is discriminatory who he sees! Keep looking just calling the office was a NIGHTMARE!

Excellent physician. Takes time listening and answer all questions. His office manager, Ivanka goes above the call of duty to help. I would give 100 stars if possible.

WARNING…office staff non-communicative!!! Take your body and your business elsewhere! Had an appointment scheduled for epidural injection, was told someone would call prior to the procedure to go over exact time and any pre-procedure instructions. No one called, so I took the initiative and called the office myself the day before the procedure to find out the exact time. It was then, the day before the procedure that I was told my blood thinners needed to be stopped three days before the injections. They canceled my appointment. If only someone could have called prior the the procedure…every other medical team calls before…why not this one???

Never got to see Dr. Ciccione as the office canceled my appt. Dr. Ciccone's policy is: if you were under the care of a physician in the past 6 months he won't see you! I explained how the previous doctor hasn't helped me and need to see someone else. You have to live with constant pain and wait 6 more months to get an appt with him. Never heard anything like this! This is a caring Doctor..NOPE!! If this is his policy...glad I'm not seeing him. Will find another DOCTOR that cares, and wants to help people in pain.

The absolute best! On a scale of 1-10 Dr Ciccone is definitely a 10++++++++++ His bedside manner is such a breath of fresh air as he is personable, professional and empathetic . He takes the time to listen to anything you need to tell him. He asks questions in order to get the bigger picture of your overall health as opposed to just zeroing in on your one area of pain. I loved the fact that pain killers etc didn’t even come into the conversation because I definitely did NOT want any type of opioids. He explained everything with such detail and clarity and gave me options when deciding on a treatment plan. After we decided on the treatment plan he gave me the chance to ask any additional questions. When it came time for scheduling treatment Ivanka, his secretary, was incredibly helpful and kind. His nurse, Liz, added another element of professionalism and kindness to my entire experience with Dr Ciccone. Oh, and the wait time is minimal! I highly recommend Dr Ciccone and his… staff!

Dr. Ciccone inherited me as a patient several years ago following a spinal fusion surgery and a couple years of pain management treatment via opioids. He was always understanding of my pain and supported my desire to ween off of opioids. He worked with me and my significant other to come up with a plan to help shake my dependence on pills. Dr. Ciccone oversaw and performed the implant of a Nevro stimulator that has changed my life. He taught me how opioids are really good at treating emotional pain, but not as good for physical pain. He was a major contributor in my decision to enter rehab and I truly believe the implant he put in my lower back enabled to get sober and stay sober to this day, more than 4 years later. I’ve seen mixed reviews for Dr. Ciccone on this site and I can only assume it is a reflection of his unwillingness to prescribe opioids to those people specifically seeking them. Forever thankful for the life turnaround he helped me realize.

I went in to see Dr. Ciconne back in Feb 2019. I have to say I've seen other reviews and mixed But I have to say I never ever experienced this level of bad service by any Physician/office staff in my life. Unfortunately I had many medical issues in my life but by far this is my worst office / doctor experience. My first visit with him I was first seen by his assistant and went over my issues. After he went over my information with the doctor, Dr. Ciconne came in to the room to see me. I developed very bad lower back pain where I could not walk no more than two feet without getting excruciating pain in my lower back. It was so bad I had to use my father's walker just to get up to his office. His first comment was "you're using a walker already?" Made me feel quite uncomfortable. He then said that I will need to do a MRI to see exactly what I have. Right after that he said lets make a epidural injection appointment. I told him I will feel more comfortable if we wait to see what the MRI… says before doing that. I found that unusual. I left his office with a prescription for muscle relaxers. I did my MRI two days later and two days after that he called to tell me I have two herniated discs in my lower back. He then switched me over to his office staff to set a appointment for the epidural injection. Unfortunately She said the next available appointment is in Three weeks. I pleaded is there anything sooner because I was in so much pain. She said no and I left it at that. The next day the pain was so bad that I called his office to see if he can prescribed me some pain meds enough to carry me through to the appointment. She said she will get the doctor to call me back. This is where it gets real bad. I called the office 5 straight days and never got a call back and i pleaded and begged the person who answered and nothing. I explained this a friend of mine who works with a lot of the hospitals in NYC and she called the office to find out why I haven't received a callback. Well that call got someone to call me back and it was the assistant. I pleaded with him that I need some pain meds and his response was pain killers do not help pain meds. HUH? I could not believe what I heard. He said he can send a different muscle relaxer. I told him I have been taking muscle relaxers for 2 weeks now and they haven't helped. He then told me muscle relaxers take 3 weeks or more to kick in HUH? never heard that before. I had to go to my primary doctor to get pain meds which helped me immensely. I told my doctor what he said and he could not believe it. Well after all this finally 3 weeks have passed and my day is here to get my treatment and I was preparing to go to his office and I get a call from his office that the machine is broken and they will have to cancel my appointment. That was the last thing I wanted to hear and after three of waiting and the bad treatment I received I decided to start over with another doctor.

I saw Dr. Ciccone when I was in intractable pain shortly after spinal fusion surgery, even though he wasn't involved in the operation. I can't overstate how helpful and compassionate he was, in prescribing medication that enabled me to get through this and giving me a clear and accurate sense of the road ahead. I saw him a few years after my recovery, due to unrelated muscle pain in a different area of my back. This was painful enough but not nearly as severe a problem as previously. Dr. Ciccone handled it equally well. A few months ago when I was experiencing significant knee pain playing tennis, I saw Dr. Ciccone, to find out if I'd risk tearing up my knee if I continued playing tennis. He advised me to wear a knee brace while playing and told me I'd be fine. He turned out to have been right. Having seen Dr. Ciccone for three unrelated problems of varying severity over a span of four years, I couldn't be more impressed by his expertise, helpfulness, compassion, willingness… to hear, assimilate, and respond to what I described, the clarity and comprehensiveness of his explanations, his answers to my questions, and his effectiveness of his remedies.

Rude and judgmental . Has his mind made up of what people should do before even seeing them. Does not treat based on case by case.
