Dr. Jeffrey Eugene Deckey

Dr Deckey is the best surgeon who had to fix my first botched back surgery. He was very very attentive to all of my needs before & after surgery. I know he couldn’t perform a miracle but he did fusion of the L5 and it’s still in place today after 12 years. IF you have to do back surgery Dr Deckey is a 5 STAR Surgeon. Melisa Pesqueira

Besides the horrendous 1.5 hour wait for my follow up visit (the first was 1 hour late) he shows up unprepared for the consultation, having to read my chart in front of me instead of prepping and reviewing the chart before coming in. Not a professional doctor. Rude. No eye contact, maybe a good 10 seconds for the 10 minute consultation. I get it. You’re busy. But maybe you would be less busy if you didn’t have to go over the charts during the visit and before like other doctors do. I feel like a transaction to him instead of a patient. Terrible beside manners. Asked him a serious question and he said to, “use common sense.” I don’t know if he’s a good surgeon but he definitely is a crap person.

THIS DOCTOR IS VERY COMMITED TO HELPING YOU AND RESOLVE YOUR MEDICAL ISSUES. HE SAW ME 3 TIMES REFERRED ME TO OTHER DOCTORS IN HIS GROUP .THEY ALL AGREED SURGERY WAS NEEDED TO RESOLVE SOM,E OF MY ISSUES. HE DID HID JOB AND WORKED FROM C-3 TO C-7. i STILL HAVE PAIN BUT NOT AS MUCH AS WHEN I FIRST SAW HIM. I STILL SEE HIM AND HE REFERS ME TO THE BEST IN ORANCE COUNTY. THANK YOU DOCTOR D.

Ruined husband for life!!

First Time visit could not ask for more, yes we waited a little bit, but the doctor was very friendly and concerned about me and my condition. He look at my MRI and ordered more X-rays and found a problem and we are working together to solve my Pain and problem, I would rate DR. Deckey a 10 out of 10.

Dr Deckey saved my life. He is incredibly well educated and trained and is empathetic and always doing what’s right for his patients. I am a physician myself and hold Dr Deckey in the highest esteem.

Can't believe the negative comments on this wonderful Doctor. I have had three major back surgeries and fusions and one neck. Because of Dr. Deckey I can still walk and am pain free. My daughter is a surgical nurse trained at Stanford working with Neurosurgeons doing spines. She has 20 years experience and moved to St. Josephs where she worked with Dr. Deckey. She said he is the best spine surgeon she's ever worked with. I find him to be very kind and always answers questions. The wait can be very long in his office because he is so busy and will fit people in when needed. Most negative comments are about the wait. I'm sure you can find other Doctors with little or no wait times. Myself I'll pick the Best surgeon and accept the wait.

Waited 1.5 hours to see him, see PA instead, he pulls up someone else's xrays, need to get more xrays because they don't have mine, wait another 45 minutes for Dr. Decky to spend 2 minutes with me... no questions about what happen to me, how I feeling or anything. Leave with an MRI referral that I have a question about. Two weeks later, 3 messages into them, no call back... completely ignored his staff. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I was there as a first time patient. After waiting for 2 hours he spent 7 minutes with me. He was arrogant, didn't ask any questions about my symptoms, and didn't let me ask any questions. The few questions I did ask her just ignored me and didn't answer. My impression is that her is only interested in booking surgery. If you are not an immediate surgical candidate then he wants to get out of the room. He seems to be in it for the money and no interest in actually helping patients. I would stay away.
