Dr. Jeffrey Evan Florman, MD

Dr. Florman was the neurosurgeon for my 2005 C345 fusion and I was lucky enough to have him do my recent ACDF surgery. His dry sense of humor and the seriousness with which he treated my concerns endeared him to me from the outset. If I had a second neck needing surgery, I would contact his office in a heartbeat.

I was diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation in 2012 and was referred to Dr. Florman after continuing increase in severe headaches, tingling followed by numbness in left arm and other problems resulting from the Chiari. I was terrified about what was going on with my brain. Dr. Florman spent all of around 15 minutes speaking with me, looked st my scans, told me increase in headaches due to stress in my life; if I made some changes I’d be fine. For 2 years things got worse- seizures, hospitalization, etc. until I finally had surgery in Boston. Dr Florman was horribly uncaring, didn’t even take my concerns seriously and left me in tears.

I only saw Dr. Florian once after my neurologist in Brunswick referred me to him because of increasing problems caused by a Chiari Malformation. I was having devastatingly bad headaches along with sudden numbness in my left arm and hand, dizziness to the point of passing out and several accompanying problems. I was terrified about what was happening to me and looking for some help and answers. Dr. Florian took all of 15 minutes to talk to me after looking at my chart, told me increase in headaches due to stress and that if I changed some things in my life I’d be fine. Less than a year later I began having seizures along with the headaches. I finally had neurosurgery after Dr. Ian Dunn from Brigham-Women’s hospital in Boston took me seriously. Dr. Florman was the worst doctor I’ve ever seen- took ZERO time to actually listen to me, completely disregarded my pain and fear and treated me like crap. If I could give less than one star I would

He gave me options and didn't pressure me. When it came time to have surgery, he did a great job.

He is a very knowledgeable doctor who obviously puts his patients at ease, with explanations that are easy to comprehend.

Dr. Florman performed surgery in Oct. 2010 to remove most of an Oligodendroglioma that had been growing in my brain. Dr. Florman answered with care every question I could think of leading up to the surgery and followed up with me after the surgery and again when I graduated from rehab! He is a true lifesaver. He woke me up during the procedure and they asked me if I recognized and could name the animal/item on the cards they were holding up. Everyone I speak with says he is the best and 5.5 years later, I'm proof! No regrowth of the tumor so far, but if it does grow back like they say, I'll know who to see!

First experience with Dr Florman. He was very attentive to me - considering my confused state he was able to explain everything in a manner I could understand. Everything he said he would do he did and when he indicated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Dr.!!!

This guy is amazing. He cares and can do incredible things for people.It was great to meet a brain surgeon that was seriously down to earth, just a real good guy. He fixed my Trigeminal Neuralgia and I'm pain free!

I would never consider anyone else in Maine for brain surgery. He saved my life and everone I meet in medicine around town that knows him says he is the best... hands down.
