Dr. Jeffrey Henke, MD

Please beware of the Mirena. Lost most of my hair, referred pain, nerve pain, false brain tumor symptoms (psuedo tumor cerebri), lost most of my vision due to the increased pressure on my brain/optic nerve. This office pushes them, tells you they are safe, tells you the hormones stay local. NOT TRUE! Read the litigation out there, read the blogs. I was told there were "no complaints" except mine. I found out too late after many years of suffering. Henke did a good job installing it, and taking it out. Why not let me know others had the same complaints, so I could get rid of it? Other specialists are aware of the multitude of complaints about the Mirena!

I have had two children, and was under the medical care of Dr. Henke through both pregnancies. With the 2nd child, I was lucky enough for him to be on call and have him deliver the baby. He has always taken so much time on each visit to talk to me, and make me feel at ease. I had fairly scary medical complications for both babies, and he showed me a great deal of compassion as well as took care of the issue at hand.

I still remember the day I met this doctor 3 years ago. Since this practice makes patients see all the doctors, I explained to him at our first meeting that I had a history of premature labor, and with the current pregnancy had tested positive for potential genetic defects. This guy had the audacity to tell me that I have anxiety issues. I guess being concerned about the well-being of my child is over his head. He came off so uncaring, and so condescending that I finally went off on him and told him that if he were a woman in my position, he'd have "anxiety" too. At my delivery at Riverside, they told me he was on-call and I wanted to cry. Luckily, I didn't progress fast enough and by the time I was ready, another doctor was on-call. I am now expecting my third and researching other practices which is why I am writing this review ... 3 years too late. If you ever read this Dr Henke, get a clue by reading all the reviews about you.

He is one of the best doctors I have. Always has time to talk with his patients and never rushed.

Did not enjoy my office visit. Wait time unbelievable and when the physician comes in, he talks about everything else other than my medical reason for the appointment. Can come off as arrogant. It is hit or miss with this physician -

horrible experience with this dr....still dealing with hyst complications..which were blown off by him ...left me sitting in his office and did not come back... i finally after 30 min. had to leave...no one from his staff came in as well...after about 3 wks of postop issues, his only response was to hand me a sample box of Prozac, which I threw away..... it was so bad, that one of his nurses told me, that she knew I could not wait to leave that med group after my 6 wk post op appt....I was out of work 3 mos....and eventually had to quit, yes from complications I still deal with...be careful

Thanks to this Dr we almost didn't make it to the hospital to have my baby. He was the Dr on call that day and when I called to say I was in labor, he ignored the advise from two of the Doctors from his office that saw me during the last two OB appointments. Thanks to him I couldn't get an epidural and he showed up when the baby was almost out! On top of everything he was the one who discharged me from the hospital leaving no prescription for pain! He is too lay back and for what I heard later his opinion very often goes against the other doctors.

Everyone is very friendly! I don't have to wait a long time to be seen. Making an appointment is easy and i am rarely ever put on hold. Dr. Henke is a great doctor and has great relationships with his patients!
