Dr. Jeffrey Michael Hughes, MD

This man should not be practicing in a field of medicine which requires interaction with patients. He should be tucked away in a medical research lab somewhere that does not necessitate him to come into personal contact with patients. He is a true definition of rude, mean and ill-tempered to the nth degree. I have seen over 100 physicians in my lifetime and none are as repulsive as he is. If I ever need the services of the emergency room and this man is on duty, I will ask to have another physician attend to me.

This "doctor" charged me $360 to talk to him for 2 minutes about my ultrasound results in the er no less, was curt and WRONG. He said that my fluid-filled cyst on my ovary was NOT complex and see the OBGYN on your own time, go see the gi right away for your diarrhea. Well my gut was right (No pun intended) and the next week I visited my OBGYN instead, just to find out I had a rapidly growing cyst that had to be treated with BC or be removed as soon as possible. Eff you for doing the opposite of our job,you way undereducated, money grubbing piece of slime. If I would have listened to you, "dr" Hughes, I'd probably be dead right now. No compassion and service. How can he able to determine if the patient has a kidney stone! Not even a cat scan or xray been done! Bad mouting a patient who's in pain! No wonder...will never recommend St. Joseph Hospital of Orange E.R. again because of this MD!

I only saw Dr. Hughes in an emergency room once. Once was enough. He was curt and abrupt. I found him intimidating. Lacks bedside manner. When my attending nurse began to ask him a question, Dr. H snapped in an angry tone "WHAT?!" in such a voice that suggested the staff person was bothering him. The nurse was polite, kind and very professional. Dr. H's manner made me rather uncomfortable and I was embarrassed for the poor fellow (the nurse, not the doc). Dr. H comes off as a cocky and arrogant. Even worse, he misdiagnosed me. I came into the hospital with excruciating abdominal pain. He didn't run any tests. He only pushed on my stomach a few times and told me I was suffering from acid reflux and sent me home with a cocktail of meds, none of which I needed because, as it later turned out, I had gallstones. He should have run an ultra sound at the very least. He was lazy, not overwhelmed. There was hardly anyone in the ER that night. Dr. H needs to be more thorough. And more polite to… his staff.
