Dr. Jeffrey David Karwoski, MD

Found a new PCP. I will no longer use Dr.Karwoski. Yes, he's friendly & cheerful. What I want is a doctor who doesn't minimize my concerns. Spring 2017: saw Dr. Karwoski because I was pretty sure I had Thrush. He looked at my tongue from where he was standing literally for 2 seconds, and said, "No. You don't." He never took a culture or even got close to my mouth to look. 2 days later I went to Urgent Care. Urgent Care said "100% yes, you have Thrush." They gave me medication to treat it. I called Dr. Karwoski to tell him what happened and he would not admit that he did anything wrong. I tried to be informative in that I suggested he could be more careful, listen to patients better, take it seriously, but he actually started to argue back. We got off the phone. I felt I accomplished nothing. Still - I was too lazy to find a different doctor. Late Jan. 2019: I was diagnosed with BRONCHIAL PNEUMONIA again. Had it 10 years ago. Feb. 2019, Thursday or Friday: My ENT… left the practice so I went to Dr. Karwoski and said I was sure my ears were infected. They hurt. I had a terrible sinus infection. I felt very sick. Again - he quickly looked inside my ear. Said he saw nothing. I said, "Of course you don't see anything. It's on the inside of my head/ears. You can't see anything by looking in my outer ear." Dr. Karwoski would not give me any antibiotic. Monday: Found a new ENT but 1st appt was not for a week. New ENT said I had really bad sinus and ear infections. Should have started treatment sooner. I was on medication for 2 months. Called Dr. Karwoski to tell him once again he failed to take me seriously. He argued back at me. The new ENT wanted blood work done on me to check if I had antibodies to pneumonia. (I had taken the vaccine ten years ago with booster 5 years ago). Guess what? No antibodies against pneumonia. Somehow they wore off. PLUS Dr. Karwoski never gave me vaccines to ward off bronchial infections. The new ENT gave me the needed vaccines and did blood follow-up 30 days later. Yes, antibodies there. ENT said that my antibodies should be checked every year. Might as well, since they take blood anyway at your annual check-up. THAT WAS STRIKE 3. Every year I've been going to Dr. Karwoski for my annual check-up. Tubes of blood are taken to check cholesterol, etc. So why not check my antibodies? You've got the blood anyway for the lab. Bronchial pneumonia is NOT FUN. If Dr. Karwoski had done the right thing and asked lab to check for my antibodies, hopefully he would have seen that the pneumonia was not there. Also why did he never vaccinate me against bronchial infections? I have a history of them. I called Dr. Karwoski's office and left message to call me so I could explain why I won't use him anymore. He never called back. Guess he doesn't care. So I'm leaving this review.

It was very easy to get an appointment at this office. The office was clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Dr. Karwarski was very friendly and thorough. He answered all of our questions and didn’t rush us. He truly cares about his patients well being! I highly reccomend Manhasset Primary care and Dr. K to anyone and everyone!
