Dr. Jeffrey Thomas Merritt, MD

Jeffrey Merritt is a smudge on the psychology profession. He is disrespectful to his patients with no regard for their situation. I filed a complaint form 21-4138 in hopes other veterans do not have to deal with him. He blatantly LIES in his evaluation. Not just misses information, but objectively LIES on them. Yes Jeff, WE see what you write after the appointment. We SEE your LIES. I am unsure how he has been able to continue this for YEARS. He is a scam and fraud on top of being a terrible health care representative.

He has been suspended as of yesterday from co ducting exams. Continue to contact DORA. Merritt, I'm not stopping until you lose your license. I promise

WORST VA Exam experience ever! DAV was contacted. Sorry you scheduled me on a Holiday and you had better things to do. 20 min joke of an exam.

If you have been negatively impacted by this guy, fill out a VA 21-4138 and send it to your local DAV office to be sent to Washington. Merritt and his quack degree should not be serving the veteran population. His biases towards this community have hurt veterans.

This guy straight up LIED on VA DBQ and had my benefits reduced!!!!

CStraight up lied to the VA about my PTSD claim. I was forcefully committed, and diagnosed by 2 outside clinics AND the VA. My condition has gotten so much worse. The medications for treatment caused my hallucinations and delusions and he told the VA that I got BETTER. Now their REDUCING my claim. I'm in disbelief. My disability was barely covering rent. Im done for.

If you have a VA exam with this guy reschedule immediately!!! Absolutely worst experience I’ve had not only with the VA but with any Dr. I’ve seen for any reason. Called me personally and said he didn’t have time to see me right before my appointment and asked me to reschedule for later in the day. Then was in fact late to my appointment he made me reschedule. During my appointment “Dr.” Merritt sent me an email and made me fill out a questionnaire online rather than just asking me questions himself. While I’m doing this he proceeds to leave the appointment multiple times for no less than ten minutes at a time. After completing the questionnaire he ends the video call on me before I even know the appointment is over. I am going out on a limb here and say the 5 star reviews on him are by written by him. They all showed up right around my appointment date and they seem to just contradict the negative reviews he previously had. He hasn’t had a review since. I just find it hard he… mysteriously gets his only 5 star reviews right when he has an appointment scheduled with the VA. Do not see this “Dr.” if you expect any help at all. Even if you have to restart your claim and wait for the VA to schedule a new appointment.

Dr. Merritt was the most professional person I have seen dealing anything to do with the VA. He was patient with me and listened well. He did his research before I showed so it made it super easy to talk to him. Felt like I was talking to an old friend.

Dr. Merritt was professional and polite. I felt that he was interested in what I was saying.

Great understanding of the veteran community. A very compassionate psychologist.
