My brother was misdiagnosed by Dr. Port and died 12 weeks later. Dr, Port told my brother he had GERD. My 56 year old brother had extreme difficulty swallowing, a 20 pound weight loss in less than a year, and all many of the risk factors for esophageal cancer. Dr. Port did an upper endoscopy and didn’t see the large tumor or even take a random biopsy. My brother called him a few weeks later and told him the swallowing was getting worse and Dr. Port told him to take the GERD pills twice a day. My brother ended up going to another doctor who immediately did an upper endoscopy and couldn’t hardly get the tube down his throat because the cancerous tumor was so large. He had end stage esophageal cancer.

It took me forever to get in to see him. When I finally got in, he didn't even look at my problem, scheduled a colonoscopy and said he'd look at it at that time. The colonoscopy was scheduled for a month later. One week after I left his office I ended up in the emergency room and was immediately sent to a surgeon. It ends up my problem was pretty severe and I'm going in as an out patient tomorrow to have it taken care of. Won't be returning to this man at any time in my life EVER.
