Dr. Jeffrey Yu, MD

Dr. Yu is the best GYN I’ve seen in a long time. He has the greatest bedside manner. He is very caring while still being clear and concise. He makes you feel so comfortable in what can sometimes be an uncomfortable visit. His offices are state of the art and lovely. He even has a private bathroom with bidet in the exam room so you can truly clean up before/after your appointment. He is very smart and on top of things. I cannot say enough about this wonderful doctor. I am so glad I found him.

My risk factors: Advanced Maternal Age, IVF, Complete Placenta Previa, 2-Vessel Cord, Marginal Cord Insertion, previous C-section delivery. I took a chance to find a new OB, as my previous doctor moved to CA, instead of choosing a doctor within the existing practice. I have worked in hospital administration for NY hospitals for over 25 years and I knew I wanted to find someone who could provide an excellent, comprehensive patient experience. I did my research for a professional with no less than stellar recommendations/reviews for himself but also someone who employed knowledgeable, friendly and efficient front end/reception staff. I found all of this with Dr. Jeffrey Yu. My first visit to his office instantly solidified my trust in him and his practice; I knew I would be cared for at the highest level of excellence by his entire team. Below are the some of the (many) reasons why: 1. Timely and efficient appointments: Dr. Yu respects his patients’ time. During my OB visits,… not once did I wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. In fact, I typically arrive 10 minutes early for my appointments and his team was ALWAYS ready and waiting to take care of me. Appointments moved quickly while not feeling rushed. Dr. Yu took his time to explain any concerns and answer all questions in a way which felt logical and reassuring. 2. State of the art equipment/technology: The first thing you notice when walking into the office is how clean it is and how well it runs (like clockwork). Each exam room is equipped with new equipment and a large screen TV which provided for a better experience during my high-risk pregnancy when visualizing the baby’s progress. Throughout COVID, the office team took extra measures to ensure patients felt safe by providing ample PPE and preventive measures. Communication with Dr. Yu was efficient and seamless; he responded to emails (via secured communicator) promptly and suggested a call if discussion was better over phone. 3. Knowledgeable team: During my regular scans, it was discovered I had placenta issues with this pregnancy. The doctor reviewing my scans asked who my doctor was and immediately contacted Dr. Yu to notify him of the findings which allowed for us to discuss/plan next steps without any delay. During my postpartum stay at Mt. Sinai Hospital, various nurses and doctors commented on Dr. Yu’s knowledge, reputation and experience. They happily volunteered information about his kindness and how much he is liked; “I have known him for 10 years and he is great”, a few said. It was heartwarming to see Dr. Jeffrey Yu as highly regarded, not only by his patients, but also by his peers. 4. Experience of a private practice, instead of group: during my high risk pregnancy, it was comforting to be under the constant care of Dr. Yu, without the uncertainty of seeing different doctors during each visit. I live in Long Island and each trip to Dr. Yu’s office took 2 hours round trip. I would not hesitate to do this all over again and will recommend him to anyone I know. My C-section delivery was smooth sailing, recovery was fast, incision site healed well and with minimal scarring. My overall experience was stellar and memorable and I am grateful for the care I received with Dr. Yu.

Booked appointment for pregnancy. Office confirmed appointment so I made (and paid for) arrangements for someone to watch my other children. Received email they cancelled my appointment and no reason provided. Disappointed.
