Dr. Jeffrey Lee Zonderman, MD

After cataract surgery, my eye became extremely blurry so I went to an appointment several days ago to diagnose the problem. Dr. Ebbing explained at length that, sooner than anticipated, a laser procedure would be needed to restore better vision. At the appointment that I made to have the laser surgery several days later, and Dr. Zonderman spent a few minues looking into my eye and said that he didn't see anything wrong and was ending the visit. When I tried to relate what Dr. Ebbing had said, he became irate and said "You're talking to ME now." "I'm the one standing here." As I spent a few moments trying to figure out what was happening, and reconcile the discrepancy in the 2 vastly different opinions, he became extremely angry and first said he would do the procedure if I insisted, then abruptly changed his mind said he refused to do it because I apparently had no trust in him, and he stormed out of the room. This is extremely unprofessional behavior for an adult and I still have… incredibly blurry vision in that eye and now need another appointment with someone else to serve as a tie-breaker. And I suspect a scam to bilk some extra money from my medical coverage and my copay. I would give him zero stars if I could. Obviously, one of them was incompetent - the issue should have been easy to see. But Dr. Zonderman's behavior was beyond disrespectful for a professional in refusing to answer any questions as to why I was there, why I had paid, why my insurance was going to pay and why I had waited for far more than an hour for him to spend 3 minutes to tell me he didn't want to hear what Dr. Ebbing had said 3 days before.

My husband went blind under his care...or lack thereof. Arrogant, does not keep up,with new advances....lazy. If you want to keep your vision, do not use this so called doctor.

Dr. Zonderman diagnosed my husband with "mild conjunctivitis" & prescribed drops. After 5 days his symptoms progressively worsened (& did not align with conjunctivitis). We called back & explained this. The doctor would not see him, but prescribed different drops. 3 days later he began to lose vision and we called a different practice. His untreated Iritis caused permanent damage. The initial misdiagnosis is understandable, but we are so disappointed to be written off when the situation was serious.

I arrived on time for my appointment but I was signed in after 20 min wait. While I was having different tests, Dr. Zonderman left his office for the emergency call. I was waiting for him for another hour in a waiting room. When I asked why I was waiting for so long, his medical assistant told me that Dr. Zonderman didn't come yet (they didn't even noticed me that he's left). On my question what will happen if he doesn't come back, I was told that I'll be rescheduled for the next day. Eventually I was seen by another doctor. But finally I spent 3 hours and 20 minutes in the doctor's office.
