Dr. Jelexza J. Vélez Gaetán, M.D. of AMA Medical Froup in Dunedin, Fla. .....Saw me for the first time, recently. I had changed insurances and I was in physical therapy with my previous doctor. It took her a month to come up.with my referrals to continue my PT. And when I got the referral ,it was back dated and had already expired. What???? I and my physical therapist had several interactions with her and office staff but never could get that referral. So that blew that gig. Also I needed a knee replacement, and had seen a surgeon two weeks prior. Gave Dr. Jelexza J. Vélez Gaetán, M.D.the xray. I found a surgeon in my network highly accredited. She wouldn't hear of it, wanted nothing to do with what I wanted. She referred me to a Dr. who had sanctions and malpractice suits against him, even recently. I dont know what the problem was, her staff or what , but I knew for some reason this is not working out for me.I am a senior and I do have a couple things going on, like… Retrolithesis in the back and advanced cervical spondylosis. I require Chiropractic and physical therapy weekly.Not to mention the total knee replacement. I dont know how I offended her and in what way but I must've done something. From day 1 she had no patience and . no bedside manner whatsoever, she was more like a basic training Sargent. It her way or else. I couldn't go through this at every turn with her so I changed Primary Care Physicans. Never , in 40 years have I ever met someone who was supposed to be professional, act so unprofessionally, or gone through something like this. I brought my records with me, I drove 20 miles to pick up a disc of my knee so we could speed things along. I tried to be proactive and make things easy for her and her staff. Rude, abrupt woman. Maybe a good scientist but a lousy people person.

We really love Dr Valez She really cared about his health.. Praying now that he is 55 he can return as her patient....
