Never let this Doctor touch you or your children. My daughter had high fever (103 - 104 degrees F)but presented at the ER with high 99 because I had been forcing antipyretics (Tylenol and Motrin)and her O2 sats were fluctuating between the high 80s and low 90s (they should be between 98 and 100), she was pale, lethargic, had chest retractions (chest sucking in when trying to breathe), had loud rattling in her chest (audible without a stethoscope)and was generally in very poor condition. She was given a nebulizer with albuterol and then we were made to wait for at least thirty minutes. When Dr Berry FINALLY came in to see her, she took one look at my daughter (who was about 18 mos at the time) who was still very pale, audibly rattly, and struggling to breathe but was trying to play with me, she said " Well, I guess I missed the whole show." (Indicating she thought my daughter was fine) She diagnosed her with "Reactive Airway Disease" (a precursor to Asthema in children) blamed me… because I smoke (I do not do so around my kids, in my home, or in my car)discharged her and instructed me to take her to her Pedi in 3-4 days. (Mind you, did no testing other than vitals and no treatment other than the albuterol.) This was Sunday. My daughter was visibly still quite ill so I took her to her Pedi on Monday morning. Her Pedi said a chest X-Ray should have been done at the ER based on how she had presented and what I had told them. She was given the X-Ray and found to have pneumonia. If I had followed Dr Barry's instructions and followed up in 3-4 days, it could have been disastrous for my daughter. I have heard many such other stories about her, I would state my opinions of her, but I do not want to be sued for libel. I would advise if you find out that she is in the ER when you show up ( they won't tell you, but it will be on the bracelet when it is printed out) then go to another hospital, you'll be glad you did.
