Dr prescribe medication without seen the patient and without observing what it is the problem, she medicated me wrong as per The Dr who sees me

As a young patient, my experience with this OB-GYN was so traumatizing, and the process so painful, that it was 10 years before I went to an OB-GYN again. She had a poor bedside manner, was not attentive or understanding of my concerns, and her communication was dismissive and left me feeling embarrassed. I recently learned that 2 friends had appointments within a year of mine, and both never returned because of their own distasteful experiences. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self that not all OB-GYNS treat you this way. As I now work in healthcare, I’ve seen the opportunities that providers have to give holistic, compassionate care their patients, and it’s a shame Friedman conducted herself the way she did, whether from a lack of self-awareness, or because she didn’t prioritize her patients’ emotional care. It concerns me that she is now teaching, since she is educating a new generation of doctors on approaches that isolate and deter patients. I recommend going elsewhere… for your care.

I am honestly surprised about some of these reviews. The doctor was on time to my appt & spent a lot of time talking to me. At one point I was worried I was holding her up as I was already 10 mins late. She did not rush me and answered every question I had. Great Doc!

I visited this doctor for annual check. I had some questions about my health, but I didn't think she was patient and willing to answer my questions. I could not feel the respect. Although I could have one free annual check with my insurance, but she insisted that I must pay 30 dollars office visit fee which I have never paid in the past several year for annual check. A very unpleasant experience with this doctor.

I waited 45 minutes, which I think is completely unacceptable. On the other hand, I liked Dr. Friedman once I finally got back to see her. She was very personable and seemed genuinely interested in identifying and addressing any issues. The exam was painless, but she had an intern and I felt a little pressured to allow the intern to take my medical history and do my exam. I understand new doctors need to get hands-on experience, but I don't have any interest in being a test subject.The main issue I had (and the reason I won't go back) is that she refused to work with me on changing birth control pills when I didn't like the one she prescribed. I called her office and said I wanted to change pills. The nurse or secretary I spoke to told me I just needed to give it a few more months. Why? I'm 30 years old and know what I want and need out of birth control. I told her that I couldn't do that and that I wanted to go back to a specific birth control that I knew worked for me. She said she'd… consult with Dr. Friedman and get back to me. A few days later, she called and said that if I insisted on changing pills, she would prescribe me Yasmin (not the pill I had told her I wanted). Otherwise, I was told I would need to make an appointment so we could have a "consultation." I told her I was sorry Dr. Friedman couldn't find 2 minutes to actually call me herself and that I'd find a new doctor. I wasn't about to take sick leave, waste 45 min in a waiting room, and then pay a $45 co-pay just to get a new prescription. Honestly, this is why birth control should be over-the-counter.

I had to make the dreaded "gyno move" when I moved across state. I have gone to her now for 3 years and am still happy. I have never had a doctor just sit and talk to me and discuss the previous year since I have seen them; she does...she has a genuine concern for your overall health.

After waiting in the office twice I decided after waiting 45 minutes to walk out. The staff never acknowledged I was there until I had to tap on the "window". With two new patients being brought in before me at the 45 minute mark, it was clear I would spend several hours in the office for a 10-15 minute visit. When I asked how long I should expect, the staff looked up at the clock (intimating that I wasn't being patient enough) and said they didn't know. My lawn care professional keeps his appointments and calls when it will change, why should my doctor be any different. I have two suggestions, train your staff and take time management classes.

She spends so much time with her patients and is surprisingly genuine.
