Dr. Jennifer Anne Hallowell, MD

I came in for a new patient appointment after moving from Ohio to Mass. When I first arrived everyone on the staff acted like I was a burden for being there and that they all didn’t want to be. Then when I finally met Dr. Hallowell, she came in the room and before even saying hello or introducing herself, she started berating me on all the reasons why I will never get pregnant. I have PCOS, so I know it is a bit of a challenge, but instead of wanting to help me, she straight up acted like I am infertile and I will never bear my own children. She was rude and blunt and insensitive all while staring at her computer. I cannot warn people enough to avoid this “doctor”. An OBGYN appointment is already a vulnerable situation, but to be belittled, berated, and told I need counseling to help “persuade me to give up child bearing” was traumatic. All because I just needed to find a new doctor in my new state.

Horrible experience with this "doctor." Cold, demeaning and condescending are the first words that come to mind. I could not get out of that office fast enough. I would never recommend her to anyone

If intimidation, coercion, outright lying and belittling are part of the Hippocratic oath than she’s doing it right. Never have I ever met a professional that treated a patient with such disregard. Terrible bedside manner, with scoffing and mocking. Even my 5 year old child told me he did not like her. I hope I never see her face again!

I hope I never have to have another experience with this woman. I left a routine prenatal appointment feeling judged, dismissed and upset. Her delivery, discussion and listening techniques need a LOT of improvement. Reading her bio my husband and I were very excited about meeting her as we are aiming to meet all of the doctors within the practice so we won’t feel like a stranger is delivering our first baby during what has been a very emotionally draining and frightening pregnancy. We have met 3 other doctors to date and are VERY happy and confident in all of them. This doctor really disappointed us and as I said upset me with her lack concern for my questions or feelings.

Insensitive and very poor communication and relating skills. I left the practice as I could not see having my baby under her care. Seemed not to care and was short/ moody at every appt

She's very rude and mean and doesn't respect my opinions ..she's a total hitch and doesn't spend time with her patents to ask questions

I am very impressed with this practice. The doctors seem to be up on all the latest treatments. They seem to do the "team approach" -if you are seen by a PA or NP, they seem to communicate well with your physician. The nurses are SUPER helpful and facilitate whatever you need. They all seem to genuinely care about you and coordinate your care very well.

Jennifer Hallowell is an excellent doctor, she has delivered my first daughter via C Section and was very caring and personal, she understood how important it was for me to see and hold my baby right away even though it was a C-section and made sure it happened, she made the delivery room a relaxed atmosphere.

Only had one appointment with her and that was enough. The few questions I asked her would get a reply "ask your primary physician" or "that's a question for your primary". Did not feel comfortable - did not feel like she wanted to know ME.... just move on with the check-up and bring the next one in.
