The receptionist in boston mgh is so rude, I'd rather just see another doctor. She's a pain doctor, and way I was treated makes pain worse, not better. Incredible.

This Dr. is right on the money for her category of medicine !!!!! A most patient and caring Dr.

Dr Kurz is part of the reason my mother suffered and died a horrible death, alone, at at MGH. My mother was experiencing back pain and was referred to Dr Kurz for a cortisone shot and treatment. Dr Kurz told my mother she could not do a cortisone shot because my mother appeared to have an infection by her symptoms/ fever. She told my mother to make an appointment with her own PCP and sent her off. Two days later my mother was back at the ER at MGH. My father forced the doctors to put her in observation. She was septic and died that evening without any bloodwork taken or medical due diligence. Had she been given an antibiotic she would be alive today. When I visit my own PCP, and I am in need of blood work, he sends an electronic order to Quest Labs and I can walk into any Quest Lab location. Why couldn't anything be done for my mother?

I have a herniated disk at L4 L5. I have seen Dr. Kurz twice over the past few years to manage my back pain. Both times I saw her, the injection made my pain stop. She took time to listen to my issues, a rarity in the medical world. Her injections were done professionally and within a day my back and leg pain was gone! I really appreciate her willingness to listen and her injections GOT RID OF MY PAIN! I have recommended Dr. Kurz to friends as she is an excellent pain doctor.

Dr. Kurz was very pleasant, taking time to explain my options. A very gentle person and extremely knowledgeable. She is direct and intelligent. I am very pleased with my interactions with her as a physiatrist.

I had a neck strain that lingered several months, and was misdiagnosed, even after doctors had the benefit of an MRI. I had painkillers, cortisone, physical therapy, bodywork, chiropractic, and acupuncture, with little relief. Finally, I saw Dr. Kurz, who reviewed the MRI and agreed with me that the results of the MRI were inconsistent with the level 5-7 pain I was experiencing. She said I had myofascial pain which could be relieved by trigger point therapy as discussed by Dr. Nancy Travelle. I sought the services of a trigger point therapy specialist in the Boston area named Erika Bourne, and five months later I am pain free. Dr. Kurz was the only thing between me and an ill advised disk fusion surgery that probably would have not reduced the pain anyway.I highly recommend that you see her if your experience has been similar to mine.

This doctor is just too busy and can't slow down to focus on her patients. Jumps from one decision to another so that in the three times I saw her there never seemed like a plan. Does not make eye contact and is difficult to reach by phone with questions.

I have seen her twice and had one phone call and each time she was too busy and self-absorbed making rapid diagnosis's barely looking at me. Acted put upon when asked any questions or for a closer exam - rushed and self-important. Showed no interest or concern for outcome - complete lack of reflection - just snap decisions. Never looked me in the eye/face and seemed ready to get to the next patient before the appt. even started - demonstrated a lack of respect or interest.
