Dr Jennifer Ridge

I am very pleased with Dr. Ridge in her entire staff. I have been a patient at Comprehensive Dermatology for about 15 years now. She and her staff are very efficient and courteous and listen to all of your concerns and answer all your questions. My husband is a patient here as well, and he is very pleased with the care he receives also. I am considering having some cosmetic procedures done in the near future. I highly recommend this practice.

The staff up front and the doctor and her assistant as well are both very rude and cold. The length of time that they actually gave us to explain what was wrong was absolutely horrible. We waited in the waiting Room for almost an hour to meet with them for 5 minutes and they didn't even really answer any of our questions. Then I got a bill in the mail because I never submitted it to my insurance and when I call them to discuss it they will not return my phone calls. I had several people in my family and out that recommended I not go to her but unfortunately this was after we had already gone. I would recommend not waste in are your time going to this office because of the way they treat their clients when you enter and during The Visit.

I found Dr. Ridge to be attentive, empathetic and knowledgeable, but waited 1.5 hours after my appointment time to find that out about her. Her paperwork focuses on Money! Financial penalties for this and that are over the top. The office staff seems to be put out with your very presence and provide no answers to your questions with out exerting a great deal of attitude. The MA or Nursing staff is are a bit cold, but of course there are exceptions. The Nurse that I had for my “procedure” was Super. My Suggestions: 1)Ease up on booking appointments. It’s like a mechanical assembly line. 2)Retrain or train office staff. They are not only part of the medical arena, they are in the service arena. Good money is not paid to be degraded, ignored or be given questionable answers to your questions. 3)Front of Office and the Back should be on the same page and not try and wing it with incomprehensible answers/explanations to questions and issues. I was informed of some… non existent “laws” and reasons as to why HIPPA took a backseat to their policies. Again, my experience with Dr. Ridge herself, Positive. But, I’ll not be returning due to office staff issues that I’ve mentioned here. The outcome... Negative Word of Mouth and Loss of future revenue from myself. Sad.

I have been seeing Dr. Ridge for my hair loss. She did all the tests she could think of trying to find the cause of my hair loss. All the tests came back as negative. The scripts she gave me cleared up what issues I developed on my scalp during my initial hair loss. She has always been professional and sympathetic to my concerns as long as I have seen her. Her staff has always been nice and professional as well. I am presently in a treatment of PRP and even tho I have to pay out of pocket, it is a very reasonable price compared to others

I saw Dr Ridge once for Basal Cell Carcinoma. She removed the lesion using local anesthetic and when I complained that it hurt, she said, "I guess I didn't give you enough. No discussion of the skin cancer and was told that I would receive a postcard in the mail with the biopsy results. Definitely seeking out another dermatologist!!!

Felt rushed

Dr. Jennifer Ridge removed some skin cancer off of me a while back. She wanted to see me within a year. I made the appointment right then. Two months before my appointment I became unemployed and lost my health insurance. I tried to find health insurance but I simply could not afford it. I cashed out my sick days through my previous job so I kept my appointment. I paid cash for my office visit. I had noticed some other marks on my body I wanted her to look at and told her I had cash to pay for it all. She hardly looked at them and said as she was walking out of the room and I will quote her, " ok, just come back when you have insurance ". I felt so low. She was not concerned at all. I thought that was illegal for a Dr. to refuse to treat you because of not having insurance. I had the cash to pay for it!! Since then, I have seen another dermatoligist and the spot on my body is worse and I'm having surgery in a few days. Diagnosis, Melanomia. This Dr. Is a waste of anyone's… time.

I had a rash around my mouth that I was trying to self treat, but it became unbearable. I didn't mind seeing the nurse practitioner at all because I had seen several at other offices in the past with no issues. Well, I can't say that anymore. From across the room without listening to hardly anything I said she "diagnosed" me with an allergic reaction and prescribed a steroid ointment. So first of all, the steroid made my face worse! Also, the ointment she prescribed had sodium lauryl sulfate in it! This is an EXTREMELY well known irritant for dermatitis, which can be another term for an allergic reaction on the skin. I asked about bacterial and fungal infections specifically when I was in the office with her and she shrugged it off saying that it didn't sound like that to her. It doesn't SOUND like that?!? What does it LOOK like? She couldn't have known since she stayed a minimum of 3 feet away from me the entire time. She thought it was a reaction to my water bottles which I have been… drinking from for years. I do realize people can develop allergies to things after time, but I use sport top bottles and this rash was on the outside edge of lips and spreading outward. Nothing she said made sense. She did decide to give me an allergy test for chemicals. I found out later that an allergic reaction around the mouth is much more likely to be from food, so I probably wasted the extra $50 copay it cost me plus the $100 of it my insurance didn't cover. I'm still struggling with this rash and at times have missed work or other planned events because I didn't want to be seen. I'm almost completely convinced that it's some kind of infection. Whether bacterial, fungal or yeast I'm not sure, but I have an appointment with my regular doctor on Wednesday. He may not know immediately what it is, but at least he will listen to me and do the research to figure it out! Apparently I should have just seen him to begin with. I will NEVER go back to that office again!

1. It is very difficult to make an appointment and it has to be done way in advance 2. From my perspective and based on what I observed, this doctor seems to schedule several appointments at the same time, and as a result there is a wait for the patients to see her. This wait is longer than the one experienced to see other doctors 3. Based on my family's experience this doctor seems to be rushed probably because she is in a hurry to see the next patients 4. The nurse practitioner is worse. Seems to be in an even bigger hurry; 5. The office hours are 9AM-5PM (lunch break from 12PM-1PM). Try to call the office at 11:50AM or 4:50PM. Nobody answers. This doctor benefits from the surprising fact that there are no other dermatologists in the area (Middletown and Oxford). From now on I will drive to Cincinnati to see someone I can choose and respect. This is the first time in my life I rate one doctor.

This office is horrible! I was never able to see Dr. Ridge because she is apparently too busy. The nurse practitioner Nancy is the worst doctor I have ever been to. She stands on the opposite end of the room when she comes in to see you. She has not ONCE examined me yet she had given me many different medications that are not working. During my last visit she informed me that she was giving me the strongest thing they had for psoriasis and then left the room. Basically she told me that I was all out options and her body language made it very clear she was ready to move on to her next appointment. I do not know she ever was certified to help people because she is absolutely horrible. The whole office is horrible. The wait time is ridiculous and their hours are not easy to work with. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Save your money and do not go here!
