Doctor Review

I was a patient of Dr Swanson’s for around 9 years. I thought she was great but when I started experiencing a lot of problems within the last year or two I realized her office was not as good as I thought. I was having to see them every few months because of pain or heavy spotting. They found no reason and told me sometimes this happens and it’s fine. I saw a new gynecologist and at my first appointment they were convinced I had endometriosis and booked me in for surgery that month. The new Dr found large amounts of adhesions all over my abdomen, including my bowels and bladder, I even needed a uterine suspension because of the damage (I was 24 years old at this time). This new Dr also found I had HPV which has caused formation of precancerous cells. I looked back in my Dr Swanson records and in the many Pap smears I had over the years (multiple in the last year of seeing her), never had I once been tested for HPV. The damage from HPV and endometriosis could have possibly been… prevented if Dr Swanson and Tracy (the nurse practitioner) would have listened to my complaints instead of writing it off as “these things happen sometimes and we don’t know why”. Dr Swanson is focused on babies, if you’re not having a baby I recommend seeing someone else as you won’t be worth her time.

Over a decade with Dr. Swanson, she delivered both of my kids. Makes you feel always like a person (she cares) not a number.

There are many better options, I switched to another doctor and now I'm much happier. The whole office is unorganized and you won't get a follow up call ever. They don't listen to you during your pregnancy either, you are a number.

Dr. Swanson is extremely cold, makes no connection with her patients. I have heard this from others but I used to think ...well everybody has their opinion. It’s true. It turns out. I saw her twice during my pregnancy, and I had a high risk one in the end. Didn’t see her afterwards. I saw another random doctor there they had available and a rotation of nurses. She also recently discharged me at the pre-op appointment for a painful cyst. She discharged me because she saw that I was seeking a second opinion on the cyst from another doctor. I was asking for a recommendation in a closed group and wanted to speak with a doctor who is a good listener and will be able to discuss the issue. She told me I put the “office on blast”, told me she can’t do the surgery and can’t be my doctor and kicked me out. Extremely unprofessional, rude and apparently has psychological issues that are getting in the way of her work.

My girlfriend has been seeing them since we found out she was pregnant (she was about 7-8 weeks, she is now 36weeks) we have only seen the doctor ONCE she NEVER acknowleges us, and seems to have ZERO interest in us, and makes me feel quite nervous about her just jumping in on the day of, wihout doing anything with us prior; she is just an awful doctor, not to mention she has botched deliveries and delayed a c-section too long on a friend of mine and the baby slipped into the birth canal and now has brain damage, because she did not want to to her job. Would NOT recommend. However the rest of the staff is fine.

Dr Swanson has a great bedside manner with patients. She is through and will explain things in a way you can understand. She addressed all my concerns and made me feel comfortable while discussing them. The office staff is always so friendly and accommodating. When I call the office I’m greeted with kindness and am helped right away. Whenever research has to be done to get the best care, this office always follows through. The office itself is clean, organized and inviting.
