Dr. Jenny My Luu, MD

I didn’t felt heard or understood. I wanted to discuss a potential diagnosis of a mental health issue I really believed I had and was told I didn’t have it without further discussion as to why I didn’t have it. Overall the impression I got was that the physician didn’t really seem interested in trying to understand why I had come in the first place. So frustrated!

Thank goodness I was at my best when dealing with Dr. Luu. Her demeanor is conceding and she seems totally unaware of previous visits or information. She laughs at Inappropriate moments, which comes off as rude and unkind. Multiple visits she acted professionally with no thought of previous plans. This is the first time I've ever written a review and it's because I sincerely hope that no one sees this women in a vulnerable state. This is not a doctor for you or loved ones. I wish I would have seen these reviews earlier.

Do not see this “doctor”. I just had a horrifying experience with her. She is a robot and utterly unempathetic. She was skipping through and almost laughing at my traumas. I felt awful for the entire night and next morning after I saw her. She also said: “I wouldn’t be any kind of psychiatrist if o didn’t make you cry”. With a robotic smile of course. Then there is the white board behind her. Just don’t go there. She should should be sacked by KP. Horrific, horrific woman.

Dr. Luu is a very stoic person. She will remind you that she is a medication doctor and that she is not someone that you should be discussing your emotions with. A sign behind her desk also reads "THIS APPOINTMENT IS FOR MEDICATION ONLY!!!". It was the most uncomfortable session I've ever been in, with Dr. Luu silently, robotically staring at me until I spoke in purely symptomatic terms (e.g. I wake up with anxiety - I sleep X number of hours per night - my triggers are X Y Z). I am shopping for another psychiatrist immediately given Dr. Luu's inability to empathize with other people at a human level. Don't you think your PSYCHIATRIST should be someone who understands the full context of your medical condition rather than prescribing medicines on incomplete data.

It is really disconcerting when you are talking to a doctor about your mental health issues and they are distracted and looking at the clock every 5 minutes. Also, Dr Luu said it was fine to taper up on the drug she was prescribing. In fact you should not split time released pills as it effects how the chemicals are released into your body. Lets just say it was very unpleasant and scary.

Dr. Luu is a good listener and have always been showing interest in the diagnosis of my decease and come up with solutions/answers to my problems/questions. I would highly recommend this M.D. because of her empathy and intelligent approach in helping me as a patient.

I saw Dr. Luu after a troubling family incident. She was very rushed and did not seemed interested in hearing my history or doing anything other than prescribe me medication. She was not an active listener nor was she empathetic.She even interrupted our session to take a call from her boyfriend and afterward seemed uninterested in the session.Also she doesn't dress professionally, but more a like a teen ready to hit Fashion Island.

Very patient and understanding. Listened to my problems and helped me get my life back on track.

A wonderful, caring Doctor who really took an interest in my problems. Thank you Dr. Luu for taking the time to figure out why I was so stressed.
