Dr. Jeremiah Andrew Alt, MD

Dr. Alt did surgery on my 14 yo. He was great with her and always took time to address any concerns that we had.

I came in to Dr. Alt’s office with severe nasal congestion to the point of feeling lethargic, having a cobblestone throat due to drainage and having ear blockage for multiple days. Once I was admitted into the room, after ~45 minutes, the medical STUDENT comes and does an endoscopy on me and starts throwing theories around about how I have a tonsil problem and just does not listen to a single thing I’m saying about my symptoms. Dr. Alt spends AT MOST 5 MINUTES with me. He then leaves and tells me to go give a DROP of my blood to the laboratory to do allergen testing. I go to the lab, the phlebotomist takes TWO VIALS of my blood. The results came back that I’m only allergic to dust. This allergen testing costs me $700 (!!) total. The whole appointment, where at MOST I learned that I have a dust allergy, cost me $1600. I look at the itemizations of my bill, and I find that they charged me TWICE for ONE endoscopy - this was justified by the U of U Health billing department as (1) $447.38:… the physical act of the MED STUDENT putting a camera down my nostrils, and (2) $291.10: the camera itself. They also charged me $32 for every one of my 19 allergen tests. I’m a COLLEGE STUDENT. I got NOTHING out of this appointment other to learn that I have a mild dust allergy after being bothered with SEVERE congestion issues for OVER A YEAR. Shame on you Dr. Alt, and shame on you the U of U Health clinic.
