He (appropriately) ordered me a steroid shot each time I went in for pain (foot area), but those were only temporary fixes. I asked if there was anything else we could do to fix the problem, and he said “no.” I did some research and found there are other treatments, although they are invasive. Very disappointed because I expected more from a BWH doctor. I agree with others who say his bedside manner could be better. I wouldn’t even care about that if he at least resolved the problem.

Very knowledgeable in his field, and has impeccable bedside manners. Highly recommend!

Very unaccomidating and short in response to my questions. Actually acted angry when I mentioned possibly getting a second opinion regarding Osteomyelitis diagnosis. Prompting me to get up and leave appointment. Found a more suitable Surgeon and am glad I did.

Dr. Smith listens, cares, and explains options. He preformed my surgery and did an excellent job.

I had seen this doctor for pain in my ankle,he told me it was Achilles tendonitis I walked around for 2 months in severe pain finally finding out from a MRI that my ankle was fractured

Dr. Smith is often 30 to 60 minutes late. He rushes into the room with no apologies and takes very little time with each patient. He delivers hard news with no sympathy or empathy and is very detached in follow-up care, even when a patient is not healing. I don't question his medical abilities but his bedside manner is so off-putting. I would seek care elsewhere.

Dr Smith was very helpful and informative to myself and family after meeting with another Dr we where referred to him he performed my surgery and put myself and family at ease

I did not have a good vibe from this doctor, as he presented to me as he was not interested in helping me. He was also very vague when discussing what may be wrong with my foot. He made me wear a boot for 12 weeks and I just did not find him throrough in anyway and somewhat rude. I discussed with him that my career causes me to be on my feet all day, as I work in a hospital. He looked at me as if I was looking for him to write up a letter for short term disability or something. All I was asking him was how can I let my foot heal in a boot while I am running around a hospital all day. He did not seem to care...I found his student to be more caring and compassionate than he was, as the student suggested crutches while I am at work..which he declined....and did not explain to me why he declined that? Was not throrough and was not happy...going for a second opinion with a chief of his department.
