Dr. Jeremy Don Steinbaum, MD

How fortunate I was that Dr. Steinbaum was in the Emergency Room when I was brought in with gangrene intestines 6 years ago. He is the BEST! I only had a small amount of colon left and he cut it into 3 pieces to slow things down as they went through this tiny bit of colon and it worked! God must have placed him in the ER that night because I needed a miracle.

I was referred to Dr. Steinbaum because I had been told that I would need part of my colon removed due to large pockets of diverticuler in my descending colon. Dr, Steinbaum was very pleasant and I immediately liked his manner. He seemed kind and knowledgeable. He looked at my test results and said that, yes, I would need surgery, but he wanted me to get a CT Scan first to determine just how much of my colon would need to be removed. When I went into his office for the results, he informed me that he had good news -- that I would not need surgery. He stated that there was redundant looping of my sigmoid but no significant diverticuler disease. I left there rejoicing. About a week later, I was filing some medical papers and decided it would be good to get a copy of the results of my last office visit with Dr. Steinbaum. When I got them, I was shocked. The paper stated that I had claimed complete resolution of all my symptoms and was not interested in resection. In actuality, Dr.… Steinbaum had asked me how I was feeling, and I told him "very well." I NEVER said that I was not interested in resection of my colon. I had no idea that I was OK, so would not have said that to him. I called his office and told the receptionist that there was an error in my report. She said that she would address it with the doctor. I asked her to please send me a corrected copy stating that "The patient claims feeling well and her CT Scan revealed that she does not need resection." I waited a week or so and didn't get a corrected copy. I wrote a letter and still did not get a response. I feel badly about this as I sensed that Dr. Steinbaum is probably a good doctor/surgeon, but I'm left uncertain about him due to the strange entry on my paperwork. Recently, I was referred back to him for a gallbladder removal, but I could not bring myself to go to him because of ignoring the issue of the error. I wish he'd had the courtesy of addressing the mistake made about me in his report. I have since referred someone else to him who had a serious medical issue and she sings his praises, so I have no malice toward him. I am simply confused as to why he would not want to clear up this matter with me.

One of the best, considerate, makes you feel comfortable, caring. He is everything you would want in a person & Doctor.

Surgery went well and healing time was fast with minimal pain.

Dr. Steinbaum was very informative about the kind of surgery I needed to have because of my recent diagnosis of breast cancer and his staff is wonderful.

I give this Dr 5 stars! He did my carotid artery surgery and although it was not pleasent by any means, he is a caring Dr. I will be having my other side done in Oct. Which is a redo, from a different Dr, that missed something. So I am going through a third surgery but not because of any fault with this Dr. I would highly fecomend him to anyone, I wish I could have him for all of my healthcare needs. He tells it like it is, in a caring way, he is funny, and from every one I know that has had him, they love him, He is a great Dr. So for me, so far so good, very pleased with him and his staff.

I have never been more impressed with a Dr. His bedside manner was amazing. He was knowledgable about my issues and gave a simple solution. I am pleased with the minimal scaring. Overall I give 110%. I would recommend him to friends and family in a heartbeat.

I would never recommend this so called Doctor to my worst enemy. My mother was referred to him for her colon surgery. The day of the surgery he was late by 1 hour after she was given her sedatives. when he finally showed face, he seemed like any other Dr except for his bedside manner, or should I say no bedside manner. he then explained that the surgery would take 1 1/2 hours as long as no complications.. 3 1/2 hours later she was done. had to hunt down a nurse to get any results,.never saw the Dr after that. my mom was in pain. my family and myself was by her side every day. her stay was suppose to be 3 days but turned into 7. the Dr called me on Christmas eve about 10p.m and informed me he was releasing her that night. I then ask how all her blood counts and levels from test were due to being high and that was the reason for her extended stay, he said " oh, hold on let me check" really! he then got back on the phone and said, "ooops, I'm bad, nope she's staying.. 3 days later we were… able to take her home. she called the office for her follow up appt and has not been able to make one.. this has been 4 weeks now. she called another highly recommended Dr, and the staff made her an appt for that next morning. she now has to go through another colon surgery to clean up a mess that Dr Steinbaum did..

From my first telephone call to every interaction before and after my surgery, Dr. Steinbaum and his staff were caring, courteous and professional. I have never been treated this well in ANY doctor's office!

Dr. Steinbaum has performed two surgeries on me, a gall bladder removal and a complicated ventral hernia repair.The hernia repair was complicated by four previous repairs, none of which had lasted more than a few months. Dr. Steinbaums repair has lasted four years already. It was he who found I didn't have one hernia, I had multiple hernias in the same area. Next time need surgery, he will be the first Dr. I seek out.
