I was in such pain! I hadn’t been able to walk without pain for 4 years!!!! Turns out I needed a laminectomy and a fusion. Omg, I was so scared, but Dr. Kolavo made sure I knew exactly what was going to happen. He didn’t always paint a pretty picture, but that’s what you want!!! Someone who is honest, compassionate, AND available!!! It started with his assistant Stephanie who is more than an assistant! I hope he pays her well cause she is worth every penny! I’m still recovering 6 weeks later, but I don’t have any pain in my legs like I did before. It’s amazing!!! I’m SO glad I chose him. ??????

Dr Kolavo was very thorough. They did every test under the sun before surgery. It made me feel safe and that there wouldn't be any surprise when he started my surgery. I feel i got the best care possible.

I had a fusion in 2013 6 years ago this month and I'm still delivering beer kegs and playing softball and bowling and I'm 55 years old still going strong thank you Dr Kolavo they don't get any better

Dr Kolavo provides superior care and treatment across the board. Out of the roughly 15 area physicians I was unfortunately subjected to he was the ONLY physician willing and able to provide me with life-changing relief through spinal fusion.

I went to Dr. Kolavo for a second opinion and decided he was the surgeon for me. He was thorough, careful and did not rush me into any decisions. He was no-nonsense in in his explanations to me, explained the x-rays and discussed choices with me. Throughout my experience, he was thoughtful and above all, kind.

My primary Doctor referred me, he Missed diagnosed me, he stated I am Morbidly Obese, I have high blood pressure and I'm diabetic although there is no test that was done by his office stating this.. So I am not diabetic nor have blood-pressure, he then wanted me to start therapy, I was seeing a nonsurgical doctor and had therapy done through them which made my condition worse, so that's why I was referred to this doctor. 4 MRI's, 7 CT Scans have been done, I need a level III fusion L3-L5-S1, surgery on my cervical C4-6, he told me to stop using my Cane and Walker and now I'm having left side to full body paralysis do not recommend the doctor you've been warned..

Good diagnosis, not quick to do surgery, looks for non invasive solutions first, surgery last option. L5/S1 fusion, was walking same day as surgery, still feel fantastic, surgery was in 2009. May seem just a little gruff, but he is a very good doctor, and he cares.
