Dr. Jerome Vincent Ponder, MD

My sister recently moved to the area and began seeing Dr. Ponder for prenatal care. At her 40 week appointment, and the appointment prior, he did not check her - only took her blood pressure. She expressed she did not want to be induced before 41 weeks - he scheduled it anyway. She got a second opinion and called and canceled the induction. He was "offended" and refused to give further prenatal care. Now SHE IS 40+ WEEKS with no prenatal care, and every other hospital is short-staffed and doesn't have room for her. Absolutely terrible, shameful doctor. I would rate him zero stars if I could. Unacceptable - leaving a pregnant woman with no care, and too late in the pregnancy to find anyone new. She will now be forced to visit the ER so she can delivery this baby. How dare you. May God judge you harshly.

I first came to Doctor Ponder after a series of doctors said I couldn't have children. Doctor Ponder asked when my miscarriage took place and I told him on the very beginning of the pregnancies. No one had asked me that, EVER. He knew exactly what to do and 9 years later I have a 9 year old, 7 year old and a 5 year old. All healthy, all amazing. If he hadn't taken the time to listen to me I would still be dreaming of having a family of own.

I've been with Dr. Ponder for 7yrs. He is the best Dr. I've ever been to. His staff is wonderful. He gets backed up sometimes but that's because he takes the extra time with all his patients to make sure all their questions are answered. I will not see anyone else! He has perfect beside manor and has always made me feel like I'm his only patient! He is very attentive to all my concerns and I'm lucky to have met him so many years ago.

Best Dr. Ever!!! My husband is active duty military and I had the option to go off post with our 1st daughter. Had him and loved him. The next time I got pregnant tricker let me see him again and the 3rd time they wouldn't refer me to him. I was high risk with bleeding. I saw 3 high risk dr's on post and no one knew where it was coming from. I changed my insurance to standard an went to him. He immediately did an ultrasound and knew exactly what was going on the 1st time he saw me. He is the best all around. I will go to him forever. Love him

Its hard to have a trusting Dr when he is never there always on vacation or rescheduling appointments. The wait time is forever and I can never get anyone to answer the phones to do something as simple as schedule and appointment

I have a patient of his since 2007 when he first opened his practice. I have always been pleased with the quality of care DR PONDER has given me. But his midwife Shawn is the WORST. I have never met anyone who could be so rude and uncaring in the world. She is too busy socializing with other staff members to take care of her patients. On 3 occasions when I have been in the office she acted like she had no time to treat me and had a horrible attitude then she did not even address my issue. I will only go back to this practice if I will be able to see Dr. Ponder and not have to see this woman. She is a disgrace to the word MIDWIFE!!!

Wonderful bedside manner, very thorough and patient. He knows what he is doing! The office runs behind sometimes, but I suppose that is to be expected with a doctor in high demand.

Dr Ponder was great! He preformed several ultrasounds which proved to me that my daughter was okay. This was my first pregnancy and he answered all my questions, when i had a problem he was right there telling me what i needed to do. The office staff is amazing!!! I felt right at home everytime i had an appointment. The only issue I had with dr ponder was that he scheduled my induction for the day that he would be out of town. I should have had a c-section because my daughter was 9lbs 3oz & face up but the on call dr kept telling me to hush & be quiet everytime i would scream. All in all Dr Ponder is AMAZING, I recomend him to anyone looking for an OB in fayetteville.
